Galaxy Z Flip3 to be $200 cheaper than its predecessor, another leak claims Posted: 05 Jul 2021 08:22 AM PDT We've already heard that this year's foldable smartphones from Samsung will be somewhat cheaper than the outgoing models and now more evidence piles up. A tweet with a tipster @FrontTron claims to have the exact pricing of the Flip3. According to him the Galaxy Z Flip3 will be selling for $1,249, which is about $200 less than its predecessor when it launched. The report explicitly says it's about the 8GB/256GB memory variant but going by the previous release, there might not be any other options anyway. $200 is a solid price cut and even if not quite the rumored 20% decrease it's a... |
iPhone 13 to offer faster wireless charging or reverse charging Posted: 05 Jul 2021 07:33 AM PDT Going by the most recent rumor from Max Weinbach, Apple's upcoming iPhone 13 lineup will offer larger charging coil compared to the iPhone 12 family. There are two possible explanations for the change. The more obvious is that a bigger coil will improve heat management and can allow for higher wattage or in other words - faster charging. Alternatively the bigger coil could be needed to enable reverse wireless charging - something that Android comepetitors have been offering for a while now. Stronger magnets for the MagSafe is another rumor thrown around lately and it seems to... |
ZTE posts first image of Axon 30 5G with second generation under display camera Posted: 05 Jul 2021 06:40 AM PDT Last year ZTE introduced the first phone with an under display camera, the Axon 20 5G. The company has been teasing a second-gen UD camera since February and showing demos with prototypes. Now we have an official confirmation that a ZTE Axon 30 5G is coming soon with that second-gen camera. The company didn't say when exactly, but unofficial sources point to a July 22 announcement (ZTE President Ni Fei did say there's an all-new device coming this month, without any details). ZTE Axon 30 5G with an under display camera is coming later this month Visionox seems to be part of ZTE's... |
OnePlus Nord CE 5G receives another software update with camera fixes Posted: 05 Jul 2021 05:51 AM PDT There's still no official word from OnePlus itself but there are multiple users on the community forum reporting that an OTA update has been released for the Nord CE 5G. The update bumps up the version of OxygenOS to 11.0.4.4. The new version takes care of some issues, introduces a couple of optimizations and brings Google's June 2021 security patch. The changelog says that the new software improves the face unlocking experience, charging speed and overall system stability so expect some minor bugs to be squashed too. There are three bullet points dedicated to the camera experience.... |

Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Classic spins around in rendered clips Posted: 05 Jul 2021 04:17 AM PDT Last week we saw rendered clips showing the Galaxy Z Flip3 from all angles, now it's time for the Galaxy Watch4 Classic to do the 360º twirl, thanks to @evleaks. Previously, we saw static renders of the upcoming smartwatch, but the video helps highlight the design changes from the Watch3. Starting with the obvious, it's the "Classic" model that has the hardware rotating bezel, while the vanilla model will have only a virtual bezel on the touchscreen. By the looks of it, the vanilla model will be the new "Active". Compared to the Watch3, the new model will have squared off sides and the... |
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 will get a Thom Browne limited edition, here's what it might look like Posted: 05 Jul 2021 03:22 AM PDT Last year the Galaxy Z Flip Thom Browne edition sold out quickly, the Z Fold2 Thom Browne edition proved popular too. These were available in only very limited numbers, however, they are highly sought after – e.g. Samsung produced only 5,000 units for South Korea, but received 230,000 registrations from people wanting to buy a Z Fold2 customized by the designer. So, these are prestige items designed to create buzz around the product rather than offer a significant boost to the sales numbers. But buzz is good, so Samsung will be making a new limited edition this year – the Samsung Galaxy Z... |

Top 10 trending phones of week 26 Posted: 04 Jul 2021 10:51 PM PDT Week 26 saw us return to an all-Xiaomi top 3 in our trending chart with long-standing favorite Redmi Note 10 Pro leading from the vanilla Note 10 Pro and the Poco X3 Pro. We then have the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and the Galaxy A52 in fourth and fifth and it's the highest positions that phones by the Korean company have occupied in a good while. Last week's surprising runner-up - the Tecno Phantom X is still among the 10 most popular phones in our database, but it has fallen to sixth place this time around. That's still an amazing performance by the young brand that mostly specilizes... |
Mony Mist - The smallest 4G smartphone hands-on review Posted: 04 Jul 2021 07:49 PM PDT Introduction In a world where smartphones get bigger and bigger, one company decided to go against the grain and launch what it claims to be the smallest 4G smartphone. Meet the Mony Mint - tiny in size, but promising to fully replace your phone, while also saving you a few bucks. The phone will eventually launch with Android Pie, although our early pre-release unit was running the very dated Android Marshmallow 6.0. That won't stop us from doing a quick review because this phone is more about the size than offering the latest and greatest Android features. And it's not like... |
Week 26 in review: MWC 2021, SD888+, One UI Watch, Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 renders and more Posted: 04 Jul 2021 04:47 PM PDT Another week down, let's recap. Infinix took up the fast charging numbers game and went pro. The Infinix Concept Phone 2021 supports 160W charging and can go from 0 to 100% in just 10 minutes - wow. Being a concept means you can't buy this Infinix phone, but the impressive tech could become part of a real product soon. We saw the fist live photo of the Huawei P50 in a dazzling pink finish. The dual circle camera array showed four lenses. One circle is occupied by a periscope, the other by three cameras. The P50 series are expected in late July. This week was the MWC 2021 and one of the... |

Weekly poll: is Tecno's new Phantom X the best camera phone for you? Posted: 04 Jul 2021 10:09 AM PDT Tecno unveiled its first premium phone last week, the Phantom X. This phone has a focus on camera features, which stand above anything the company has built before. The main camera has the first properly big sensor in the family, a 1/1.3" sensor with 50MP resolution. It has fairly large 1.2µm pixels (larger still with binning, 2.4µm), Dual Pixel AF and Laser AF. Still, that's a lot of camera hardware for a $400 phone. It also features a 6.7" Super AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate, 1080p+ resolution (19.5:9) and curved sides. Gorilla Glass 5 guards both the front and... |
