Flashback: the Motorola Backflip and its crazy inside-out design Posted: 04 Jul 2021 06:39 AM PDT We miss old Motorola sometimes – it created some of the best phones of their day, but also crafted devices that had us asking "It does WHAT?" and staring in confusion. We've already covered the RAZR, the Moto X, the Nexus 6 and, of course, the Droid (aka Milestone) with its nifty slide-out QWERTY keyboard. If it wasn't clear, those were the excellent models. But today we wanted to talk about one of the crazy ones instead – once you meet the Motorola Backflip, which is equally hard to forget. Weekly poll results: rollable phones are the next big thing after foldables Posted: 04 Jul 2021 03:22 AM PDT What's behind the corner is always more exciting – a while ago it was foldable phones, now rollable phones seem to be the next big thing. This form factor secured the first spot in last week's poll, narrowly beating out horizontal folders. Rollable phones have some advantages. For one, they avoid the crease by using a bigger radius when folding the screen, also by design they pull it tight when extending. Another advantage is that they don't need a secondary screen – it's always just the main screen and the money that would have gone to a second panel can be put towards buying a better... |
Google Pixel Buds A-Series review Posted: 04 Jul 2021 12:01 AM PDT Introduction and Unboxing This is Google's third attempt at the Pixel Buds. The change from the first-generation corded Pixel Buds to last year's true-wireless Pixel Buds was significant, and one that resonated well. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it," is very much Google's thinking with the Pixel Buds A-Series. These TWS earbuds look the same, have many of the same features, and cost $80 cheaper than the 2020 Pixel Buds. Realme's Dizo teases its first mobile phone Posted: 03 Jul 2021 08:41 PM PDT Realme's AIoT sub-brand Dizo introduced a couple of wireless earphones last week, and the company is already teasing its next product, which isn't an AIoT device but a mobile phone. Dizo shared a poster on Twitter to tease its mobile phone. The phone isn't clearly visible, but a bit of editing reveals it is a feature phone with a circular island on the rear housing a camera and flash. Premium design coupled with the best features is just what you need to #BeDifferent. Get the complete package, soon. Posted: 03 Jul 2021 05:22 PM PDT Huami launched two smartwatches under Amazfit's GT series last year - GTR 2 and GTS 2. We already reviewed the GTR 2 and were impressed with its design, OLED screen, smooth UI, and battery life that's longer than any smartwatch with a real OS. Today we have the GTS 2 with us, which is largely identical to the GTR 2 in terms of internals, but comes with a different design. So which one should you get? I used the Amazfit GTS 2 for a few weeks to find that out. Amazfit GTS 2 specifications Display: 1.65", 348x442 pixel AMOLED color screen, 341 ppi pixel density, 3D Glass ... |
Xiaomi's impressive 200W fast charging might actually become reality Posted: 03 Jul 2021 03:00 PM PDT Remember Xiaomi's impressive charging "flex" back from the announcement of the Mi 11 line in May? Xiaomi showcased a Mi 11 Pro charging at a reported 200W and going from 0 to 100% in just 15 minutes. We won't be getting into the debate of whether this sort of charging speed is useful or past the point of diminishing returns. Instead, we'll focus on the fact that it was undoubtedly a great PR stunt, with Xiaomi even claiming to have broken a few world records in the process. Xiaomi called the tech Xiaomi HyperCharge and it didn't take long for some additional details surrounding the whole... |
Samsung Galaxy M22 European pricing leaks Posted: 03 Jul 2021 01:00 PM PDT Samsung is yet to provide any official info on the Galaxy M22. We do, however know that it is right around the corner, especially now that a Bluetooth certification for it has surfaced, under the SM-M225FV_DS model name. Even without an official retail release, though, it seems that a European vendor has jumped the gun a bit with a listing for the Galaxy M22. Not much in the way of hardware details, unfortunately, but a price, with VAT included of EUR 239.90 is mentioned.
