PlayStation 5 consoles will be hard to find in stores even in 2022, Sony warns Posted: 10 May 2021 06:21 AM PDT Sony has already sold 7.8 million PlayStation 5 consoles and aims to sell a further 14.8 million over the next 12 months. However, Bloomberg reports that the tech giant has warned analysts that the console will remain in short supply through 2022. There is strong demand for the PS5, however the global semiconductor shortage has made it difficult to increase production, so for now the PS5 will be difficult to find in stores. Earlier, Sony had predicted that supply will pick up in the second half of this year, but it no longer believes that. It didn't set a new estimate for when supply will... |

Leaked Honor 50 image confirms earlier dual-ring design reports Posted: 10 May 2021 03:46 AM PDT The Honor 50 smartphone is expected in June and today we spotted a leaked image of the phone, suggesting the dual-ring design we reported back in April is real. The second circle will actually host two shooters, one of them with a periscope lens. While this isn't the first time we're seeing this two-circle design, the render is a visualization of how it might look in real life. The leakster says nothing on whether it is a real image or a CAD-based render - either way, it is likely a close match for what we are going to see. This setup obviously has main + telephoto shooters, and the... |
Kuo: iPhones will switch to Apple's own 5G modems in 2023 "at the earliest" Posted: 10 May 2021 02:53 AM PDT Apple brought CPU and GPU development in-house and rumors have been swirling since at least 2019 that it wants to design its own 5G modems. Back then it was believed that the first own silicon modems will appear in 2022 iPhones, but the latest investors note by Ming-Chi Kuo revises that to "2023 at the earliest". This lines up with an earlier report by a team of analysts at Barclays who also point to 2023. The modem will support both sub-6 and mmWave 5G. Apple first officially confirmed that it has started work on a modem in December 2020. A couple of months ago it announced a €1... |
