Weekly poll: Xiaomi Redmi K40 Gaming promises a lot, but is it worth it? Posted: 09 May 2021 06:05 AM PDT Xiaomi has its Black Shark gaming division, but the Redmi brand wanted something for itself, so it came up with the K40 Gaming smartphone. It is part of the K40 family, but has its priorities set slightly differently. Last week the phone arrived on sale in China and unsurprisingly sold thousands of units in seconds. Now, the Redmi K40 Gaming is still available only on the domestic scene, but we heard Poco might relaunch the very same phone as Poco F3 GT. This week we're asking you if/when the phone escapes the home market, will you purchase it? We've seen a lot of arguments in... |
Weekly poll results: vivo V21 5G excites the right crowd, rest of series get little love Posted: 09 May 2021 02:21 AM PDT Last week we got three new vivo V-series phones and the V21 and V21 5G in particular brought something you don't see that often – optically stabilized selfie cameras. We asked your opinion on the matter in our weekly poll and you selected the V21 5G as the most exciting device from the lineup. Most of you aren't sold on the utility of OIS selfie cameras to begin with and a solid number believe other phones offer better front facing cameras. The 44MP shooter on the new V21 and V21 5G sits behind a standard f/2.0 lens and brings autofocus (a proper rarity in this price segment) and dual... |

Posted: 08 May 2021 06:46 PM PDT Realme unveiled the Realme 8 and 8 Pro in March. We already reviewed the Pro model, and now we have the vanilla 8 in Cyber Silver color with us for the full review. The Realme 8 looks similar to the Pro variant - it's built around a 6.4" FullHD+ AMOLED screen with a punch hole in the upper-left corner for the 16MP selfie camera and a fingerprint reader underneath for password-less unlocking, which surprisingly performs better than the 8 Pro's. Unannounced Lenovo Tab M10 5G shows up online Posted: 08 May 2021 04:00 PM PDT It seems Lenovo is working hard on a new batch of tablets. Hot on the heels of the alleged Yoga Pad Pro leak form a couple of days ago, detailing a intriguing tablet, with HDMI input support, we are now seeing a more-traditional form-factor tablet also pop-up in various places. As per the name suggests - the Tab M10 5G is a more budget-friendly model, with a display diagonal around 10 inches. It now has is own page in the Google Play console, complete with a small and not particularly telling render, as well as a TB-X607Z model number. Lenovo Tab M10 5G on the Google Play... |

Even more so now that a very detailed specs sheet for the vanilla Zenfone 8, previously referred to as the "Mini" has surfaced online. 12MP frontEIS on both cameras8K4K slow-mo at 120fpsHi-Fi audio playback via headphone jackUSB Type-C, 3.5mm jackdual speakers5G, BT 5.2, Wifi 6, FMZenUI 8 on Android 11linear vibration motor#Asus #asuszenfone8— Mukul Sharma (@stufflistings)... |
HMD releases revised Nokia Android 11 update roadmap Posted: 08 May 2021 11:30 AM PDT Last year HMD Global released an Android 11 update roadmap for Nokia smartphones, including a total of 15 smartphones supposed to get the latest version of Android between Q4 2020 and Q2 2021. Out of those, seven are already running Android 11, while the update for a few of them has been delayed. And while we thought the rest would receive Android 11 during the promised timeframe, owners of some smartphones will actually have to wait more to get a taste of Android 11. HMD has released a revised Android 11 update roadmap for Nokia smartphones, telling us that the Nokia 6.2, 7.2, and 9... |
Just 12% of global iOS users and 4% of US ones have allowed app tracking since the iOS 14.5 rollout Posted: 08 May 2021 09:30 AM PDT Nobody was ever in doubt that Apple's new anti-app tracking (ATT) feature, rolled-out with iOS 14.5 would have a major impact on the way targeted advertisement works and consequently, any company with a business model built around it. Like Facebook and its subsidiaries, like Instagram - some of the most severely-affected parties and naturally among the most vocal against ATT. Having a hunch that a certain change is significant, though, is not the same as getting some actual data on just how significant it is. Redmi K series phone with Dimensity 1100 chipset allegedly in the works Posted: 08 May 2021 07:30 AM PDT It really didn't take long after last month's announcement for the Redmi K40 Gaming to basically explode in popularity, raking in 100,000 sales in one minute. It should hardly come as a surprise then than Xiaomi could be looking into launching one or more derivative models in the near future. We already know that the "K" device family is a thing and we might now be looking at a sprawling "K Gaming" sub-branch in the future, as well. At least that's what a recent Weibo insider tip suggests. The source has a solid track record and just happens to recall another phone alongside the... |
