Asus might be working on four budget smartphones

Posted: 29 Aug 2020 03:30 AM PDT

After Asus CEO Jerry Shen resigned back at the end of 2018, the company started to slightly shift focus away from the budget smartphone segment, focusing squarely on flagships and the gaming ROG lineup. While cheaper models, like the ZenFone Live (L2), have been trickling-out onto the market, until as late as April last year, these don't come anywhere near the popularity of the company's last budget hit – The ZenFone Max Pro (M2). According to a new leak, things might change soon, as Asus is currently working on four devices, with chipsets codenamed "Lito", "Lagoon", "Bengal", and "Scuba"....

The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE leaked in a 360-degree video last week. The Galaxy S20 FE isn't exactly a rebranded S20, it's meant to be a successor to the Galaxy S10 Lite. It was previously reported that the Galaxy S20 FE would arrive in six different color options and in both 4G and 5G variants. The 2020 Moto Razr is coming and the latest leak comes from none other than @evleaks. We've already seen the Moto Razr 2020 leak a few times and the latest leak doesn't reveal any new information. A labeled diagram of the phone has surfaced, likely from the AT&T branded phone's user manual. The power key is shown on the upper left side of the phone with the volume buttons on the upper right side. The fingerprint sensor remains roughly in the same place – though this time the Moto batwing logo will be the scanner. The first images of the 2020 Razr came in late July when we saw...

A couple of days ago a leaked hands-on video showed the upcoming LG Wing in action for a few seconds, with its weird T shape and rotating form factor. Verizon may be one of the...

Cheaper Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Lite is headed to India

Posted: 28 Aug 2020 06:25 PM PDT

Samsung has long been rumored to expand its foldable smartphone line even more, with a more affordable device to complement the Z Fold2 in a similar form factor. We'll call this Galaxy Z Fold Lite for now, although that name is just an assumption on our part. This phone has so far been rumored to sport the model number SM-F415F, which makes sense because in Samsung's naming scheme, the first "F" stands for "foldable", while the low number implies this will be lower-end (and lower priced) than the original Galaxy Fold and the Galaxy Z Fold 2. This model number has now been spotted among...

The Asus Zenfone 7 and 7 Pro feature Nokia OZO Audio processing

Posted: 28 Aug 2020 01:22 PM PDT

The new Asus Zenfone 7 and 7 Pro have three microphones to capture sound and advanced features in the camera app – but this isn't just any audio, it's Nokia's OZO Audio. The simplest use case is to turn on the Wind Filter, which suppresses wind noise thus clearing up the audio. Mic Focus allows the microphones to follow the camera's zoom and home in on a particular sound source. Zenfone 7 audio features powered by Nokia OZO: Wind Filter and Mic Focus You can also use Acoustic Focus if you want to control the directionality of the microphones separately from the zoom (this is...

We can once again see the mysterious button positioned right next to the power button and the volume rocker and the return of the 3.5mm audio jack.

Apple settles over Powerbeats 2 design defect, will pay $9.75 million

Posted: 28 Aug 2020 09:28 AM PDT

Apple just agreed to settle the dispute over a design flaw plaguing the Powerbeats 2 headphones outside of court. The company didn't admit that there was indeed an issue with the 2014 Powerbeats 2 but it said it's easier and cheaper to settle without having to go to court. As a result, Apple has agreed to pay out $9.75 million. Apple marketed the headphones as sweat and water-resistant and built to "endure". Customers claim that this isn't exactly the case and the buds would stop holding a charge after "minimal use". So if you bought a pair of Powerbeats 2 before August 7 and you...
