| Samsung Galaxy Note20 teardown reveals densely packed body and hard to remove battery Posted: 21 Aug 2020 04:17 AM PDT While the Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra is getting all the attention from reviewers, the vanilla Galaxy Note20 has left many disappointed. The main gripes are that it lacks a high refresh rate screen and also comes with a plastic back even though its price tag is far from budget. The latest video from teardown experts PBKreviews brings us a look into the insides of the cheaper new Note and shows how not so easy it is to repair. After a quick heat and pry tool operation, the back cover quickly comes off. Given its plastic nature, it does wobble under pressure and also reveals one of the... |

| Kuo: Apple to offset 5G costs with cheaper battery design for iPhone 12 series Posted: 21 Aug 2020 01:49 AM PDT According to the latest report by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple has been looking for ways to cut the iPhone 12 manufacturing costs so as to offset the cost of adding 5G to the iPhone 12 lineup. Looking at suppliers data, adding sub-6 5G support to the iPhone costs up to $85, while adding millimetre-wave could end up as much as $135. Apple has been applying pressure on its suppliers to try and reduce the cost of parts and will use simpler battery designs in the iPhone 12 series to offset some of that added cost. The iPhone 12 battery board specifications reportedly have a reduced number of... |

The phone is normally priced at $349, but right now you can pick one up from Big Red for just $240. Those are some solid savings right there. Of course, as you may have expected, there are caveats to mention here. First off, you need to add a new line to take advantage of this price (or be a new customer). Second, and perhaps most importantly, you have to purchase the phone on the carrier's device installment plan, which means you won't pay the... |

Note that EU availability will depend on local rules for using 5Ghz bands in cars. Android Auto FAQ page Until now, wireless Android Auto connectivity was exclusive to Google's Pixel and Nexus phones as well as a small number of Samsung Galaxy devices. The list... |

| TENAA lists new Oppo phone with 65 W fast charging, 5G connectivity Posted: 20 Aug 2020 11:34 AM PDT TENAA added a new Oppo phone to its database – no, not the F17 Pro that was teased earlier today. That one promises to measure only 7.48 mm thick and weigh 164 g while this one is a tiny bit chunkier at 7.85 mm and 169 g. Still, this model – PEAM00/PEAT00 – is interesting because it features 65 W fast charging, according to leakster Digital Chat Station. The battery is listed as 2,100 mAh, but that's certainly a mistake and the actual capacity should be twice that (two cell batteries are common with fast charging phones). Judging by the layout of the triple camera, this will be an... |
