Gionee Max key specs and design confirmed ahead of August 25 launch Posted: 22 Aug 2020 07:40 AM PDT A few days ago, we learned Gionee is set to launch an entry-level smartphone dubbed Gionee Max on August 25 in India, which will pack a big battery and will be priced under INR6,000 ($80/€70). Now the company has uploaded a banner on its official Twitter account to reveal the phone's design, while the promo page on Flipkart has been updated to reveal more specs. The Gionee Max will pack a 6.1" HD+ waterdrop notch display with 2.5D curved glass on top, with the back home to a dual camera setup aligned vertically in the top-left corner. The smartphone will have 2GB RAM and 32GB...
vivo Y20, Y20i full specs and images leak Posted: 22 Aug 2020 05:40 AM PDT The vivo Y20 bagged certification from Indonesian authorities last week and today we learn there's a Y20i as well, since marketing images and what look like screenshots of the Y20 lineup's pre-briefing presentation slides have surfaced online, revealing the duo's full specs and design. The vivo Y20 and Y20i are the same smartphones with three differences - the amount of RAM, charging speed, and color options. The Y20 will come with 4GB RAM, charge at up to 18W, and will be available in Obsidian Black and Dawn White colors. The Y20i, on the other hand, will charge at "normal" speeds, have...
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G ad got out a little early Posted: 22 Aug 2020 03:10 AM PDT At the Note20 Unpacked event on August 5, Samsung also made the Galaxy Z Fold2 5G official - kind of. As in, the foldable got plenty of stage time and press images were released but it wasn't strictly 'announced' - with detailed specs and prices all. A few promo videos followed, and then a shady hands-on clip the day after, with another one a couple of days ago. Joining these now is a newly-leaked full video ad. It goes over key features of the Z Fold2 5G starting with its phone-tablet duality - 'you can have it all and do it all' on this one. The 7.6" Ultra-Thin Glass display with 120Hz...
Google Pixel 5 to feature 90Hz screen and ultrawide camera, 4a 5G to come with Snapdragon 765G Posted: 22 Aug 2020 01:20 AM PDT Google announced the Pixel 4a earlier this month and teased its 5G variant alongside the Pixel 5, both of which are rumored to launch on September 30. Google hasn't revealed any specs of these smartphones yet, but the CAD-based renders of the Pixel 5 that leaked yesterday revealed its design, and today we get to know more about the phone's specs. Citing people familiar with Google's upcoming phones, Android Central claims the Pixel 5 will have 8GB RAM and 128GB storage onboard and it will be powered by the Snapdragon 765G SoC, which is hardly a surprise since the smartphone was previously...
Three Huawei Mate 40 models certified on MIIT Posted: 21 Aug 2020 11:07 PM PDT The Huawei Mate 40 is expected to arrive sometime soon, and a new report points out three Mate 40 models along with their codenames and technical model numbers. The three devices arrived to the MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) in China. This documentation doesn't reveal any specs, though. The regular Mate 40 is codenamed Ocean, and it carries a model number OCE-AN00. The Mate 40 Pro is codenamed Noah with a model number NOH-AN00, and the Mate 40 Pro+ has a model number of NOP-AN00. The codename wasn't mentioned, but based on the scheme of the other two, we'd imagine...
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2’s cases leak on Samsung Bulgaria Posted: 21 Aug 2020 07:57 PM PDT Ever since Samsung announced the Galaxy Z Fold2 at its Unpacked event, we've been counting the days until Samsung is expected to announce the full specifications and availability of the Galaxy Fold's successor – expected to happen on September 1. In the meanwhile, Samsung has updated its Bulgarian website with the self-branded cases coming for the Z Fold2. A Leather Cover comes in three colors: black, brown, and green. The brown one is the correct match for the Mystic Bronze color. The lining of the case is made from a soft microfiber texture. Leather Cover The other case...
LG Q92 live hands-on images leak Posted: 21 Aug 2020 05:42 PM PDT The upcoming 5G-capable LG Q92 mid-range smartphone has leaked again in Korea, this time in a bunch of hands-on live images showcasing the Ceramic White version. Its looks seem to be heavily inspired by LG's new design language that made its debut on the Velvet. Like the Velvet, the Q92 will also be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 765G chipset, according to previously leaked specs that were confirmed once more today. LG Q92 hands-on images The Q92 has a 6.7" FHD+ touchscreen, a quad rear camera setup (48 MP main, 8 MP ultrawide, 5 MP depth, 2 MP macro), a 32 MP selfie...
Huawei Enjoy 20 Plus renders leak showing Mate 30 Pro-like camera island Posted: 21 Aug 2020 03:34 PM PDT A couple of days ago we found out that Huawei's upcoming Enjoy 20 Plus smartphone would end up being powered by a MediaTek 5G-capable chipset, and not a Kirin like the Chinese company initially intended. This is because of the new sanctions imposed by the US government that hit the companies making the Kirin SoCs with American technology. Today a new set of purported official renders showing the Enjoy 20 Plus have leaked. As you can see, the handset is going to borrow the rear camera island design from Huawei's Mate 30 flagship series from last year. It's also got a 'full-screen'...
A possible Samsung Galaxy foldable "lite" was certified by the Wi-Fi alliance. Posted: 21 Aug 2020 12:21 PM PDT The Wi-Fi Alliance certified a curious phone from Samsung, the SM-F415F/DS. The first "F" stands for foldable – the original Galaxy Fold is F900, for example, the Z Flip is F700. Since the Fold is the premium offering and the is more affordable (though still premium), what would a 400-series device be like? We'll resist the temptation to call this a mid-ranger as foldables cost more than non-folding phones – that's the price you pay for cutting edge tech. However, if Samsung could get close to $1,000, things could get interesting. Note that the "1" (the second digit) in the model number...

Google Pixel 5 renders show a design nearly identical to the 4a Posted: 21 Aug 2020 09:27 AM PDT CAD-based renders of the Google Pixel 5 have been released by @onleaks and the phone depicted in them looks very much like the Pixel 4a, save for a few additions and an omission. The screen measures between 5.7" and 5.8", so it's the same size as the one on the 4a. It's flat too, with a single punch hole camera in the upper left. Notably, the Soli radar from the Pixel 4 seems to be is missing. Anyway, this contradicts the rumors claiming that Google will only release an XL version of the Pixel 5. Google Pixel 5 renders The back is home to the squircle camera island,...
