Redmi K30i to come with 48MP main cam instead of 64MP Posted: 02 May 2020 06:30 AM PDT When the Redmi K30 launched back in December, only the Chinese variant offered 5G connectivity with the global one settling for 4G only. Now rumors suggest that the Redmi K30i will take on the challenge to be the cheapest 5G smartphone on the market and it would probably be available outside of China too. But to keep the price low, some corners have to be cut. In this case, the Redmi K30i would most probably employ a cheaper 48MP main sensor for its quad-camera array on the back instead of the 64MP one found on the current Redmi K30 phones. The information comes from a string in...
Upcoming Samsung Galaxy Buds X to have noise cancellation Posted: 02 May 2020 04:30 AM PDT It's no secret anymore that Samsung is working on a proper successor to the Galaxy Buds+ called Galaxy Buds X. Or they would probably co-exist, but given the rumored price of around $140, we suspect the Buds X will replace the older generation. Anyway, according to the US Patent Office listing, the Galaxy Buds X will offer active noise cancellation undercutting Apple's AirPods Pro and the Pixel Buds 2. The design also looks a little funky from those leaked renders from a month ago. Since the pair stopped by the US Patent Office, Samsung is perhaps gearing up for a release sooner...

Samsung Galaxy M21, A50s get price cuts in India Posted: 02 May 2020 12:45 AM PDT Samsung has slashed the prices of the Galaxy M21 and Galaxy A50s in India. The Galaxy M21 was launched in India in March with two memory versions - 4GB/64GB priced at INR12,999 ($170/155) and 6GB/128GB priced at INR14,999 ($200/180). However, after the Goods & Services Tax (GST) hike last month, the prices of the smartphones in India went up, taking the price of Galaxy M21's 4GB/64GB variant to INR14,222 ($190/170) and 6GB/128GB model to INR16,499 ($220/200). But with the price cut, the 4GB RAM model is now down to INR13,199 ($175/160) and the 6GB RAM version costs INR15,499...

Google Chat based on RCS arrives in Italy and Singapore Posted: 01 May 2020 04:55 PM PDT Last year, Google made the final push to enable RCS on Android-powered devices across the world. After enabling RCS in the US, UK, Mexico, and France using Google's own servers via the Android Messages SMS app, the RCS-based Chat service is now going live for Android users in Italy and Singapore. Google Chat is an RCS-based platform that enabled the next-generation of SMS messaging - one that allows for sending of full-resolution videos and photos (with a limit of 100MB), shows when the recipient(s) is (are) typing, and supports read receipts, even across borders. Although there are many...
OnePlus Z is now rumored to pack the Snapdragon 765 chipset Posted: 01 May 2020 02:55 PM PDT The OnePlus Z is the missing link in the company's early 2020 roster, as it should be the model to try and alleviate the price hikes undergone with the launch of the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. Initially thought to be called OnePlus 8 Lite, the Z is still coming, only later. According to the latest mumblings on the matter, it should see the light of day in July. Today a new rumor claims the OnePlus Z will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 765 chipset, and not the MediaTek Dimensity 1000L, as suggested countless times before. On first blush this seems to just be a case of some leaksters...

Google Pixel 4a samples get compared to the Redmi Note 7 Posted: 01 May 2020 09:30 AM PDT Remember that Google Pixel 4a hands-on video from almost two months ago? Well, the same tech journalist who made that video has now shared two camera samples and puts them side by side with the Redmi Note 7's. And for the record, when we reviewed the Redmi Note 7, we were quite impressed with the camera performance at the time given the price range. So here's how the 48MP camera on the Xiaomi stacks against the rumored 12MP shooter on the Google's offering. Pixel 4a vs Redmi Note 7 Obviously, the camera samples have gone through Twitter's compression and we can't make a proper...
Report claims that Xiaomi phones collect browsing data from its users Posted: 01 May 2020 07:30 AM PDT According to a security researcher working with Forbes, Xiaomi has been collecting browsing data from users who are using Xiaomi phones and the built-in browser. And the fun part is that the browser does so even in incognito mode or even when using the privacy-conscious DuckDuckGo web browser. Gabriel Cirlig, the security researcher, is using a Redmi Note 8 as a daily driver and noticed that the device records pretty much everything he does on the phone and sends the data to servers in Russia and Singapore, although the domains are hosted in Beijing. We are talking screens, websites...
