| Samsung Gear S3 and Gear Active get Bixby, UI improvements in latest update Posted: 12 May 2020 07:09 AM PDT Samsung still supports the Gear S3 (2016) and Gear Sport (2017) smartwatches. These two (well, more than two as there are several versions of the S3) are getting new update that is currently rolling out in South Korea and the US and should reach other markets in short order. The update brings the Bixby assistant, you can ask it questions or tell it to perform certain actions (e.g. start an exercise or control Spotify). These watches originally launched with S Voice, but Samsung will shut that down on June 1, so this update comes just in time. Additional changes include showing icons on... |

| Poco F2 Pro unveiled with S865 chipset, 6.67" Super AMOLED screen and 64MP camera for 500 Posted: 12 May 2020 05:30 AM PDT The Poco F1 was a rare beast, an actual example of a "flagship killer". Now, almost two years later it is finally time for a sequel, after the detour named Poco X2 - a mid-ranger that was based on the Redmi K30. Actually, it seems it was a change in course rather than a detour as the new model is essentially a rebadged Redmi K30 Pro. The Poco F2 Pro does bring a long list of improvements compared to the F1, starting with the latest chipset. The Snapdragon 865 is the best chip from Qualcomm yet and one of the first to feature updatable GPU drivers, which might improve the phone's... |

| Snapdragon 865 phones dominate AnTuTu April chart, Mi 10 Pro on top Posted: 12 May 2020 03:21 AM PDT The benchmarking platform AnTuTu has released its monthly charts for best-performing smartphones, and this time Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro rises to the top. The phone is ahead of the OnePlus 8 Pro and the vanilla Mi 10, all of which are powered by the Snapdragon 865. Interestingly enough, there are zero phones from the Huawei ecosystem as the six-months old Kirin 990 is edged by the newer competitors. Four members of the Samsung Galaxy S20 family make the top 10, with the Asus ROG Phone 2 inbetween. The Top 10 is completed by the 2019 devices OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7 Pro, but the current... |
| Moto One Vision Plus and Moto E7 pop up on Google Play Console Posted: 12 May 2020 02:29 AM PDT Motorola is working on a "plus" version of the Moto One Vision, a modification that surfaced on the Google Play Console. It will be joined by the first of a new generation E-series phones as the Console also revealed the Moto E7. The Moto One Vision Plus will drop the punch hole in favor of a teardrop notch for its selfie camera. The screen panel stays at 6.3" and (we're guessing) 1080p+ resolution, same as the original. So, what's "plus" about this phone? It's not the memory, this one will come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The original had 128GB storage. Also, the Plus model... |

There's no word from Google yet on when the Pixel 4a will be announced, but we may see... |
| vivo X50 Lite appears in Australia Posted: 11 May 2020 10:49 PM PDT What is the difference between the Russian vivo V17, the international vivo S1 Pro, and the vivo Y9s? Trick question -all three phones are exactly the same, just renamed for different markets. Now this very same handset has appeared at the Australian retailer JB Hi-Fi under a fourth different name - vivo X50 Lite. This vivo X50 Lite brings a Snapdragon 665 chipset, a 6.38" AMOLED screen and a fingerprint scanner under the display. The SoC is coupled with 8GB RAM and 128 gigs of storage, but it is expandable through the microSD slot. The four shooters on the back are... |
| New LG "Wing" rumored to have a rotating dual-screen form factor Posted: 11 May 2020 10:02 PM PDT A new LG smartphone has surfaced in reports, and a (questionable) image gives us an idea of what the this phone could look like. The new LG device is codenamed: WING, whose form-factor resembles the letter "T". Such a device would take the Dual Screen form factor to new heights with a 4-inch square display that hides under the main one. Flipping the screen out turns the main display to a horizontal orientation while revealing a new square display. This image is obviously (and terribly) photo-chopped, so you must take this report with a hefty amount of skepticism. The device is... |

Its strength in still photos is attributed to its excellent exposure, wide dynamic range, vivid... |
| Huawei P30 Pro New Edition goes up for pre-order in Germany Posted: 11 May 2020 07:09 PM PDT The P30 Pro is Huawei's last flagship smartphone that was able to launch with Google apps and services onboard, and the Chinese company has been milking this fact ever since. First we got some new colors last fall during IFA, and now there's a P30 Pro New Edition coming. The phone that was revealed by Huawei's own website in Germany earlier this month is now up for pre-order in the same country, straight from the manufacturer itself. It will set you back 749, but if you pre-order you'll get free Huawei FreeBuds 3 and a mini speaker as well. Furthermore, if you bundle a Huawei Watch GT 2,... |

Many months later, Motorola is finally announcing the update to Android 10 for the foldable Razr today. The new software will obviously bring all of the goodies that Google packed into Android 10 when it got released last September, but there's more from Motorola itself. With this update, the external display, which the company calls Quick View, is receiving some expanded functionality. You can now call people without opening your... |
