Posted: 16 Dec 2019 07:03 AM PST

Samsung has stuck with its rugged Xcover series of handsets pretty faithfully throughout the years. As per an earlier scoop, courtesy of XDA, the next Xcover device on the horizon is the SM-G715F. Despite the similarities with the Galaxy A71, SM-A715 model number scheme, the SM-G715F is, apparently, an Xcover phone, likely to be called the Galaxy Xcover Pro. SM-G715F seems to be the Samsung Galaxy Xcover Pro. It'll be coming to Europe and will launch with Android 10.— Mishaal Rahman (@MishaalRahman) December 14, 2019 The same phone has now popped-up at the Wi-Fi Alliance, hinting at...

Posted: 16 Dec 2019 05:17 AM PST

Google announced that it will no longer issue Google Mobile Services licenses for phones intended for the Turkish market. This includes not only local manufacturers but all Android makers. Note that this has nothing to do with the US-China trade war, this is over the choice of default search engine on phones. Existing models - phones that people have already bought and those still in stores - will continue to work. However, it seems that Google is also suspending OS updates, which may be an issue. This started when Russia's Yandex filed a complaint, saying that Google changed its...
