Posted: 31 Oct 2019 08:00 AM PDT

During the July-September period, the company racked in just KRW 7.78 trillion ($6.58 billion) in profits down from KRW 17.57 trillion ($15.04 billion) last year. The sizeable drop is caused due to the slumping semiconductor market and weak demand for memory chips. It has "Zoom" in the name, but its telephoto lens provides only 3x magnification, so it's bested on that front by competitors from Huawei and Oppo. Still, what's it like to use? We prepared a short and sweet video review for you that aims...

The Y500 Wireless is a new pair of Bluetooth headphones from the Samsung owned AKG Acoustics. It's a fairly affordable pair for casual, outdoor use with a compact, foldable design and some unique features for the price. The design of these headphones is quite appealing. It's quite compact, thanks to a relatively thin frame and small ear cups, and they also fold inwards to be stowed away easily. They come in four different colors, black, green, blue and pink. Build quality is average. They feel lightweight and plasticky with slightly loose joints. The headband length is adjustable...

Posted: 30 Oct 2019 04:29 PM PDT

In its bid to become a services company (and not just a hardware one), Apple is aggressively pushing its latest TV+ streaming subscription, due to launch this Friday. First it announced that it would bundle a free year of TV+ to any iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV or iPod Touch, and now it will bundle TV+ for free with Apple Music' student subscription (worth $4.99 a month). Normally Apple Music is $9.99 a month per device ($14.99 for a family subscription) and TV+ will be $4.99 a month as a family plan, so having both at $4.99 is quite the steal. The news was broken on Hailee...

Posted: 30 Oct 2019 11:14 AM PDT

A newly surfaced NCC listing confirms that. Since the vanilla Redmi Note 8 doesn't have NFC support - as most Chinese market-oriented smartphones do - it would make sense for Xiaomi to release the 8T for the global market with proper NFC support.
