Following the event we had a chance to speak with Mr. Andrzej Gladki, who is currently the company's Deputy General Manager for the CEE & Nordics region. Mr. Gladki is in charge of the sales in all channels within the region and the management of the sales team, and he told us that the Mi Store in Sofia is just the first of the many stores Xiaomi's planned to open in Bulgaria. Weekly poll: is the Google Pixel 6 duo shaping up to heroes or zeroes? Posted: 08 Aug 2021 04:01 AM PDT The Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will be rather exclusive phones – no, seriously, they will be available in only eight countries (Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Taiwan, the UK, and the US). And from comments that Google execs have been making, they will not be cheap. We don't have the full details yet, far from it, in fact. But Google did confirm the most interesting bits about the 6-series Pixels – they will be powered by Google's first custom mobile chipset, the Tensor. This is not to be confused with Tensor cores in Nvidia GPUs (even though they are both named after... |
Flashback video: the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 and how it bet on the wrong OS Posted: 08 Aug 2021 12:26 AM PDT After a series of successful feature phones, Sony Ericsson suddenly found itself in need of a touchscreen phone. In the past the company had used the touch-enabled UIQ front end for Symbian OS, but its fate was uncertain – the Symbian Foundation formed with Nokia at the top, so its preferred S60 was chosen as the Foundation's main interface. Sony Ericsson didn't have the in-house expertise to create a new touch-driven phone quickly, so it tapped HTC to create a new model – the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1. While today we associate the Xperia name with Android phones, that wasn't the case at... |
Weekly poll results: Huawei P50 Pro embraced by fans, the Snapdragon version more so than the Kirin Posted: 07 Aug 2021 08:55 PM PDT While it is in political hot water internationally, Huawei is still cool with the fans. Half the voters in last week's poll are interested in picking up a Huawei P50 Pro and the breakdown of the specific preferences of fans is quite interesting. For starters, less than 1 in 10 voters would wait for 5G versions of the phones. It's an odd limitation that the new P50 series is 4G only, but it doesn't seem to bother fans all that much, anyway. The next bit of insight echoes the sentiments of Galaxy S buyers – many prefer the flagship Snapdragon chipset over the company's in-house chip... |

Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G bags Bluetooth certification Posted: 07 Aug 2021 01:12 PM PDT The Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G has moved a step closer to the launch as it has bagged Bluetooth SIG's certification. It's listed on the certifying authority's website with three model numbers - SM-A528B, SM-A528B_DS, and SM-A528N. The same model was certified by FCC as well, revealing Wi-Fi 6 connectivity and the presence of an NFC chip on board. Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G gets... |
