Xiaomi working on a Memory extension feature for MIUI

Posted: 30 Apr 2021 04:30 AM PDT

Well, it seems that Xiaomi is working on such a feature of its own too. A tipster found buried deep in MIUI 12's source code a feature named "Memory extension". It does what the vivo X60 Pro+ does but it's limited to 1GB only. It requires some tinkering before you can unlock the toggle, though. Memory extension feature description Hopefully, the feature won't be limited to high-end Xiaomi...

PUBG Mobile teased for the Indian market

Posted: 30 Apr 2021 02:10 AM PDT

After PUBG Mobile received a ban in India, the company behind the game said that it would release an Indian-friendly version in the future with reduced gore, violence and nudity. The adapted version was first teased back in November 2020, but PUBG Studio has been fairly silent since then. Until now, that is. A short teaser video of PUBG Mobile India showed up on the Indian YouTube branch but has since been taken down. Sadly, it didn't reveal a release date or an approximate time frame, so we are still in the dark. However, the fact that the video showed up is a strong indication of...

New iPad Pro and iMac with M1 will be available on May 21, British retailer reveals

Posted: 29 Apr 2021 06:36 PM PDT

The global chip crisis keeps chugging along, and Apple has long been rumored to be affected in the production of its new devices. Case in point - the new iPad Pro 11 and 12.9 and the new iMac with M1 that the company announced at last week's spring event are going up for pre-order later than new devices usually do after an Apple event. And in a move that's very uncharacteristic of it, Apple hasn't actually revealed an official release date for any of these three products. Thankfully though, a British third-party retailer, John Lewis, has risen up to the occasion and given us the date we've...

OnePlus 6 and 6T will get Android 11 beta builds starting in August

Posted: 29 Apr 2021 03:58 PM PDT

The OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T both launched in 2018, at various points throughout the year, and so they're both more than two years old. Even so, the company is apparently working on Android 11 updates for them - but that's where the good news ends, unfortunately. OnePlus has unveiled that it expects the first beta version of its OxygenOS 11 software based on Android 11 to reach the 6 and 6T towards the end of August. And that's just the first build. Expect to see a bunch of others follow in the next weeks after that, so if you're wondering when a final, stable, non-beta build might...

Sony Xperia 1 III Chinese pricing revealed

Posted: 29 Apr 2021 11:27 AM PDT

In the past couple of years, Sony has followed an unusual strategy of announcing phones without pricing and availability. The same applies to the recently announced Xperia 1 III but now we have our second hint at pricing for the top dog in Sony's mobile division thanks to a listing in a Chinese online shop. Sony Xperia 1 III leaked pricing and launch date for Chinese market The 256GB storage is listed for CNY 8,499 ($1,313/€1,084) while the 512GB version will go for CNY 9,499 ($1,468/€1,212). Realme Buds Q2 are official with new design

Posted: 29 Apr 2021 10:19 AM PDT

Realme launched without much fanfare its latest audio wearable - the Buds Q2. The true wireless earphones retain the design as the first Buds Q but come with improved game mode, IPX4 water resistance, fancy design and a so-called Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) feature. The latter only works for calls and is not the much saught-after active noise cancelation. The Realme Buds Q2 kept some of the impressive features its predecessor had - 20-hour total battery life with 10 minute charging enough to add 2 hours of playback. Sadly the case still packs a microUSB port (yes, really)....

New nubia Z30 render shows off a cool dual tone design, the phone may support 120W charging

Posted: 29 Apr 2021 09:23 AM PDT

The latest nubia Z30 leak (posted by C Technology) spices things up color-wise – the render shows the phone from behind at an angle that allows us to see both the rust-colored back and the gray front. The dividing line between the two colors goes around the frame. Well, we don't actually see the front, not in this render. The display is supposed to have an under-display selfie camera, but there's more than that. The Z30 could also feature the first under-display 3D ToF sensor for face ID. ZTE demoed such a sensor at MWC Shanghai earlier this year. nubia Z30 render showing off a cool...
