Samsung Galaxy A32 4G in for review Posted: 21 Mar 2021 07:01 AM PDT This is the Samsung Galaxy A32 4G and it's the middle child of this years' A seires - sitting about half way between the A02 and the A72. It comes in a simple package with a 15W charger and a USB cable. Sadly there's no protective case in the box. Not to be confused with the Galaxy A32 5G, which despite supporting next-gen networks is the decidedly less capable device. While the 5G model has a TFT display of 60Hz refresh rate, 48MP main camera and 13MP selfie camera, the 4G one we have here has an AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate, a 64MP main camera and a 20MP selfie... |
Weekly poll: what do you think of the new Samsung Galaxy A52 and A72? Posted: 21 Mar 2021 03:32 AM PDT Samsung unveiled three new A-series phones this week, however only one of them has 5G connectivity. And, surprisingly, it's not the most premium of the three. The three models are already available in several regions and we were wondering – how many of you want one and which one? We already have the Samsung Galaxy A52 (the 4G version) in our office – you can watch our hands-on video for our first look at the phone. It costs €350, while the Galaxy A52 5G is €430/£400. The two phones are identical beyond the chipset and the screen – Snapdragon 720G and 90Hz for the 4G one and Snapdragon... |
Flashback: a look back at the best Samsung Galaxy A phones through the years Posted: 21 Mar 2021 12:07 AM PDT Samsung built up the Galaxy A series as a popular line of premium mid-rangers. This week we saw three new additions, but to appreciate how far the series has come we need to look back to the beginning. We already examined the very beginning of the line, the Galaxy Alpha, which wanted to the sleek and stylish instead of a features before looks style flagship like the Galaxy S5. We're not going to cover every single A-series phone, instead we'll try to check in on the more interesting models. We will see that they refined the Alpha formula - that was a bit more style over substance for most... |
Weekly poll results: Find X3 Pro gets lukewarm reception Posted: 20 Mar 2021 08:39 PM PDT The Oppo Find X3 Pro caught some people's attention, but few are ready to fork over the cash to buy one without further research – last week's poll shows that roughly half of voters are interested in the phone, however, most of them preferred to wait for the full review. When we posted the poll, we had shared early camera samples from the phone. That wasn't enough to make a €1,150 decision, though. The good news is that we have finished our review since, so you can dive into the details (or watch our hands-on video for a quick overview). It was a positive conclusion, by the way, we... |
Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 in for review Posted: 20 Mar 2021 05:11 PM PDT The Redmi Note 10 did not win over the voters in our weekly poll, its siblings proved quite a bit more popular. That said, plenty of people are closely following the phone as evident by our trending chart – the phone has been in the Top 3 for the last several days. The Note 10 became available a few days ago, it starts at $200 for the base 4/64 GB model. There are also 4/128 GB and 6/128 GB versions topping out at $280. In India the prices range from INR 12,000 to INR 14,000 (though this is with a discount in effect). Redmi Note 10 (left) and Redmi Note 10 Pro (right) We already... |
iQOO Z3 appears on Geekbench ahead of March 25 launch Posted: 20 Mar 2021 01:47 PM PDT An unknown vivo smartphone bearing model designation V2073A and believed to be the iQOO Z3 was spotted on Google Play Console a few days ago with 6GB RAM. Now the same device has passed through Geekbench with 8GB RAM onboard. The smartphone runs Android 11, and the motherboard section in the Geekbench listing mentions "lito", which corresponds to the Snapdragon 765G SoC. Geekbench doesn't divulge any other specifications of the V2073A, but the Google Play Console revealed the smartphone will pack a FullHD+ screen, while 3C confirmed it will support 55W charging. The iQOO Z3 will... |
GSMArena labs: introducing our What is my phone tool Posted: 20 Mar 2021 10:30 AM PDT Some follow new phone launches closely and are able to recognize different models by minute details. Others can probably only name the brand of their phone. While we do enjoy examining phones under a microscope, we also try to serve the more casual users. This is why we built the What is my phone tool. Open it in your phone's browser (not in our app!) and it will tell you what phone it is – then you can consult our detailed database of specifications, read our review and comments by other users, check related models and so on. This is obviously not going to be much use to our regular... |
Black Shark 4 series will feature 6.67" 144Hz AMOLED screen Posted: 20 Mar 2021 07:30 AM PDT The Black Shark 4 series is coming on March 23, which consists of a vanilla and a Pro model. Black Shark hasn't detailed the specs of both smartphones yet, but earlier today, it confirmed that the Black Shark 4 lineup will feature a 6.67" Samsung-made E4 AMOLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate and a multi-finger touch sampling rate of 720Hz. The display will also have a punch hole in the center for the selfie camera. Black Shark doesn't tell us whether both smartphones in the series will pack this AMOLED screen, but it's safe to say that the Pro variant will. Black Shark 4... |
