OnePlus 9R 5G teased with gaming triggers ahead of March 23 unveiling Posted: 20 Mar 2021 04:30 AM PDT A couple of days ago, OnePlus CEO Mr. Pete Lau revealed that the company will unveil the OnePlus 9R 5G on March 23 alongside the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro. OnePlus hasn't detailed the 9R 5G yet, but its Indian branch posted an image on Twitter teasing the smartphone. The picture includes a silhouette of the 9R 5G, and while it doesn't reveal the phone in its entirety, you can clearly see its right side frame is home to the power button. The smartphone also appears to have two gaming triggers attached to it. That's because OnePlus is focusing on mobile gaming with the 9R 5G. Mobile gaming is... |
iQOO Z3 with 5G support to launch on March 25 Posted: 20 Mar 2021 01:30 AM PDT iQOO announced the iQOO Neo5 a few days ago, but it isn't done unveiling new phones this month since Chinese retailer JD.com has revealed the vivo sub-brand will launch the iQOO Z3 on March 25 in China. The listing on the Chinese retailer's website doesn't divulge anything about the iQOO Z3, but iQOO shared a poster a few days ago teasing a new 5G smartphone, and the same image is included in the JD.com listing, which confirms the Z3 will support next-gen networks. That's hardly a surprise, though, since the Z1 also came with 5G connectivity. There's no word from iQOO about the Z3... |
Posted: 19 Mar 2021 10:57 PM PDT OnePlus has always enjoyed extensive teaser campaigns for its upcoming product launches, but it's definitely outdone itself this time around, in preparation for its March 23 grand unveiling event for the OnePlus 9 series and the OnePlus Watch. Speaking of the company's first smartwatch, here it is in all its glory in a "leaked image" that was retweeted by OnePlus itself. So it's more like an official teaser than anything else. As implied by its previous teaser, the wearable has a round face and an overall subdued look, with a band that should be easy to replace with a standard issue... |
Asus ROG Phone 5 video teardown shows why it snaps in half Posted: 19 Mar 2021 08:48 PM PDT A few days ago the Asus ROG Phone 5 shocked the world by essentially snapping in half when subjected to a traditional bend test. Considering none of its predecessors had such issues, this was intriguing, to say the least. We were eager to find out what might explain the situation, and luckily Zack from JerryRigEverything has now done a video teardown of the ROG Phone 5, which you can see embedded below. He tries to get to the bottom of the snapping incident, and taking off the back of the device instantly reveals an inside that's unlike anything else we've ever seen, with two... |
Exclusive: the vivo X60 series will be the first with pixel shift technology Posted: 19 Mar 2021 06:32 PM PDT An industry source revealed an interesting detail about vivo's upcoming X60 trio. Apparently it will become the first smartphones to use pixel shift technology. You may have heard of pixel shift as it has been used in select DSLRs in the past, but never on a phone. Interestingly, the vivo X60, X60 Pro and X60 Pro+ are already official in China and there hasn't been a mention of such camera technology. Then again, the Chinese versions of the X60 and the Pro use Exynos 1080 chipsets and (according to rumors) the global versions will switch to Snapdragon 870 instead (the Pro+ will keep the... |
