The model number is TA-1335, which is suspiciously close to the TA-1333 model number of the FCC handset. However, early findings suggest that the two phones have little in common. This means that some of the devices deemed relevant will go through the new round of testing because the overall score changes too. Not to mention the software improvements manufacturers introduce over time can have a big effect. The change signals T-Mobile readiness to phase out 3G and repurpose the spectrum as part of its 5G rollout plan and since Google Fi is an MVNO, it needs to do the same.
