Nokia 8000 4G image and key features leak: 2.8" screen, S210 chipset, WhatsApp and Facebook Posted: 09 Nov 2020 08:19 AM PST The first official image of the new Nokia 8000 4G has slipped out along with additional details about its design and features. First off, if you were expecting a slide-out keypad cover (a trademark of the original 8000-series), you'd be disappointed. The new design looks more like an ordinary featurephone, albeit with some premium touches. The sides of the phone, including the keyboard, are curved and the exterior has a "glass-like" design (whatever that means beyond "glossy"). The 8000 4G will indeed be a KaiOS device, with WhatsApp and Facebook apps. Also, the 4G connection could be... |
Nokia 8 V 5G UW is the mmWave-supporting Nokia 8.3 for Verizon Posted: 09 Nov 2020 07:25 AM PST HMD unveiled the Nokia 8.3 5G back in March and now the company is introducing a special version for Verizon dubbed Nokia 8 V 5G. The big change is that the 8 V 5G supports the carrier's mmWave 5G as well as the slower but more widely available sub-6GHz standard. Other than that the smartphone is identical to the regular Nokia 8.3 5G. Nokia 8.3 V 5G UW You get a 6.81-inch IPS LCD of FHD+ resolution with a punch-hole cutout in the top left corner. The camera setup includes a 64MP primary shooter alongside a 12MP ultrawide snapper and two 2MP sensors for macro shots and depth... |
Reborn Nokia N95 shown on video Posted: 09 Nov 2020 06:43 AM PST Since taking over the Nokia brand, HMD has been reviving several classics from years past. From 2017's Nokia 3310 to the Nokia 8110 4G and upcoming Nokia 6300 4G and Nokia 8000 4G, HMD is betting on nostalgia. Back in 2007, you'd be hard-pressed to find a more capable smartphone than the Nokia N95 and it seems HMD had plans to bring a modernized version of the device but ultimately chose not to. The latest Mr Mobile YouTube video gives us a look at a non-working prototype of the revised Nokia N95. At the 6:12 mark we can see Michael Fisher pull out the phone which looks like your... |

What to expect from Apple's ARM-powered Mac event Posted: 09 Nov 2020 05:05 AM PST Apple doesn't normally announce new products this late in the year, but this is a special occasion – for the first time in its 44 year history, the company's new computers will be powered by a processor designed entirely by Apple. Early Macintosh computers used Motorola CPUs, then in 1994 Apple switched to PowerPC (co-developed by Apple, IBM and Motorola) before moving to Intel x86 in 2006. And now in 2020 the Apple A-series chipsets are taking over, bringing both hardware and software under the same roof. The official announcement is tomorrow and we will be covering all new products... |

As we expected, this is the Oppo Reno5 5G smartphone - we assume it is not the Pro since the front panel is flat - both the Reno3 Pro 5G and Reno4 Pro 5G had curved sides of the screen. Oppo PEGM00/PEGT00 (Reno5 5G) We already reported some rumored specs sheet and the TENAA listing confirms them once again - a 6.43" OLED, 64MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP cameras and a 4,300mAh battery. The latter is expected to support... |

SA: Samsung tops Apple in the US market for the first time in three years Posted: 09 Nov 2020 02:26 AM PST For the first time since Q2 of 2017 Samsung shipped more smartphones than Apple in the US market over a single quarter. The Korean tech company had a 33.7% share in the July-September period, which is an increase of 6.7 percentage points compared to the same period last year.
