| MIUI 12 based on Android 11 hits Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Posted: 14 Nov 2020 07:00 AM PST  The Chinese version of the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom has started receiving an OTA update containing not only MIUI 12 but also Android 11 too. This could mean that a global rollout of the software is just around the corner. The software version is V12.1.3.0.RJKCNXM stable and weighs 3.3 GB. However, some users who have already installed the update report issues with battery life and sound. Of course, Google's latest security patch for November is also baked in. Source (in Chinese) |
| Qualcomm confirms that it can now supply Huawei with chips Posted: 14 Nov 2020 05:18 AM PST  Earlier this week, news broke that Qualcomm has finally been granted a license to supply Huawei with some products. It was just a report from China, however, and no actual evidence to back these claims. Until now, of course. In a public statement, Qualcomm has confirmed the rumors and some of the products are 4G-enabled. This is in line with an earlier report saying Qualcomm not being able to deliver 5G chips to the Chinese tech giant for now. There's no word on when Qualcomm will be able to export its 5G chips to Huawei but the latter has repeatedly stated that it's willing to work... |
| MediaTek MT6893's single-core performance higher than Dimensity 1000+ Posted: 14 Nov 2020 03:00 AM PST  MediaTek's rumored MT6893 chipset that's been doing rounds these past few days in the media shapes up to be quite the performer. The latest report comes once again from the famous Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station and claims that the SoC is faster than MediaTek's current top-end Dimensity 1000+ chipset. At least that's what the single-core score suggests from the Geekbench listing. The tipster also adds that the main Cortex-A78 core is clocked at 2.8 GHz, but that might change before launch, or there will be two separate versions. The most powerful core will likely be tuned to 3.0... |

According to his latest research report, Kuo predicts that Apple's revenue is expected to rise up to 100% year-on-year in 2021 due to a change in the iPhone 13's battery components. With Google Camera version 8.1, which is now rolling out to some users on the Play Store, the new UI and stabilization modes are making their way to older Pixel phones. | OxygenOS 11.0.4.5 for the OnePlus 8T rolls out with 11 different fixes Posted: 13 Nov 2020 05:07 PM PST  Today OnePlus has released the latest software update for the 8T, its current-gen flagship killer device. The new software is OxygenOS 11.0.4.5, which is starting to roll out in India today, and will make it to Europe and North America sometime soon. As usual with OnePlus releases, the over-the-air update will reach a small percentage of users today, with a broader rollout expected to follow within a few days.
