Judging by a patent filed with WIPO, the company may have something more functional planned for version 3. The patent describes a light strip that will be illuminated in full RGB color. Overall Q2 of 2020 saw 20.4% fewer phones shipped at 294.7 million compared to Q2 of 2019's 370.3 million. There haven't been drastic changes at the top - Samsung and Huawei got 20% share of the pie each with Apple sitting in third with 13.5% market share.
