OnePlus made a documentary about the design of the OnePlus Z/Nord, here's the trailer Posted: 25 Jun 2020 07:33 AM PDT OnePlus was founded in mid-December 2013 and had its first phone out in April 2014. The company is trying to pull off something similar for its "new beginnings" project - the OnePlus Z/Nord. Pete Lau, Carl Pei and company are working on a side project too, a documentary on how they built the new phone. A trailer for the documentary was published today, the premiere is set for June 30, just before the July launch of the phone (whose name is kept under wraps but hinted at with various teasers and puns). The trailer has a hook - the team working on the project had only 6 months to get it...
Samsung Galaxy S20 Lite tipped to launch in October Posted: 25 Jun 2020 06:40 AM PDT Two weeks ago we came across a report which speculated that Samsung is planning a Galaxy S20 Lite. Now, South Korean news outlet ETNews suggests the affordable member of the S20 line will be released in October. The actual naming of the device is still not confirmed with the new report referring to it as the "Galaxy S20 Pen Edition" which would suggest an S-Pen stylus and closer ties to the Galaxy Note series. Other speculations suggest the phone might be called the "S20 Fan Edition" or simply the S20 Lite. According to previous information, the phone will come with Samsung's One UI 2.5...
Amazfit GTR and GTS get daytime nap tracking with the latest update Posted: 25 Jun 2020 05:51 AM PDT A new update has just arrived to some Amazfit GTR and GTS units. The software version for the GTR is 1.3.5.77 while the GTS gets 0.0.9.12. Both versions of the software, however, carry the same new feature - support for naps over 20 minutes. This shouldn't be mistaken for the regular sleep tracking - that's something these watches were capable before the update. But some people like to take naps during the day and sometimes they are more than 20 minutes. That's why Amazfit wanted to give you a little bit more insight into how you sleep during the day. There's nothing new according...
OnePlus 8 Pro sale in India ends in minutes after stock runs out Posted: 25 Jun 2020 05:04 AM PDT Blink and you miss it - Amazon India and OnePlus made the OnePlus 8 Pro briefly available online, but all units were gone minutes later. The phone was available on both sites, which have since hung up "out of stock" signs. The Pro was available at INR 55,000 for the 8/128 GB model and INR 60,000 for 12/256 GB. The new Ultramarine Blue color is exclusive to the pricier tier while the other two hues (Onyx Black and Glacial Green) can be had with either storage capacity. There were some incentives to buy, including an instant discount of INR 3,000 if you pay with an SBI card or use an...
Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 render shows punch-hole design Posted: 25 Jun 2020 04:13 AM PDT Another spicy leak from the famous Ice Universe reveals the unfolded design of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Fold 2. The image below is what Samsung's future foldable phone should look like from the front and it departs from the Galaxy Fold's original design. The notch cutout has been replaced by a less obtrusive punch-hole near the upper-right corner of the display. And even though the cutout on the current Galaxy Fold is off center, this camera hole may trigger some OCD for someone looking for symmetry. Then again, this could have been a practical-related decision rather than a design...
Here's our best look yet at the Samsung Galaxy Watch3 Posted: 25 Jun 2020 03:27 AM PDT Images of the Samsung Galaxy Watch3 rumored to arrive next month leaked earlier this week revealing the smartwatch's design, but a new picture that surfaced today gives us our best look yet at the upcoming smartwatch. This image was shared by reliable leakster Evan Blass and it corroborates the previous design leaks. The Galaxy Watch3 has a stainless steel casing but the image doesn't confirm whether it has a rotating bezel. However, previous leaks suggest the smartwatch will have one. The straps of the Galaxy Watch3 are made out of leather and this is the 45mm model we are looking at...

New Samsung Galaxy Note20+ case confirms design rumors Posted: 25 Jun 2020 01:43 AM PDT The Galaxy Note20 duo has already seen its fair share of leaks for the past few months and we already have a pretty good idea of what they will look like. Now Ice Universe has shared another case, which reconfirms the design and gives us a few more details about the functional elements' location. Alleged Galaxy Note20+ case The images show a case for the still unreleased Galaxy Note20+ with five holes. This isn't new, however, as we already know that the phone will feature three cameras leaving the other two cutouts for the 3D ToF sensor and the LED flash. More shots...
Realme X3 goes official with 12MP telephoto camera, Snapdragon 855+ chipset Posted: 25 Jun 2020 12:56 AM PDT After introducing the X3 SuperZoom last month, now Realme followed it up with the vanilla X3. As the name suggests, the X3 lacks the periscope module found on the SuperZoom and opts for a conventional 12MP telephoto camera instead. Another difference comes in the selfie camera department where the X3 packs a 16MP primary shooter and an 8MP ultrawide snapper in a similar-looking a pill-shaped cutout. Apart from the camera differences and storage configurations, the X3 is identical to the SuperZoom. Upfront we have a 6.6-inch FHD+ IPS LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate and the dual...

The support page doesn't include any specs of the Galaxy Z Flip 5G, but the smartphone has been certified by TENAA, which clears its way for launch in China. | Posted: 24 Jun 2020 07:00 PM PDT On Monday, Apple held its annual World Wide Developer Conference, where it announced new versions of all its major operating systems. Chief among these was the iOS 14 announcement, where Apple discussed a ton of new features that are going to find their way onto millions of iPhones come September. After having watched the keynote and going through everything new in this update, it's hard not to think of iOS 14 as one of the most influential updates that the platform has received in recent years and one that will matter to a lot of people going forward, especially those on the... |
vivo X50 Pro with gimbal OIS arrives in global markets next month Posted: 24 Jun 2020 04:22 PM PDT At the beginning of this month, vivo unveiled its latest smartphone innovation: a gimbal optical image stabilization system, which the vivo X50 Pro uses for its main camera sensor instead of a traditional OIS system. The X50 Pro was joined in the spotlight by the vanilla X50 and the X50 Pro+ (although confusingly the latter drops the gimbal-like stabilization despite its name implying it's a step up in all areas compared to the Pro). That announcement was in China, for the Chinese market, but if you were patiently waiting to hear about a global release, here's some good news for you....

Galaxy M51 will only make it to India in September Posted: 24 Jun 2020 02:05 PM PDT Fans of Samsung's Galaxy M series in India will unfortunately have to wait until September to see what's shaping up to be the most powerful device to ever appear with M branding - namely the Galaxy M51. This comes from a new report supposedly based on info from industry sources. The launch in the subcontinent has been delayed to September because of production issues at Samsung's factories. The M51 may surface elsewhere before September, although that's not very likely, seeing as how the M series devices are usually either exclusive to India or launch there first. The handset is...
New iOS 14 feature shows just how many apps are snooping on your clipboard Posted: 24 Jun 2020 11:58 AM PDT A new feature in iOS 14 developer beta 1 has some users taken by surprise. The feature alerts the user every time an app access the clipboard for whatever reason, and let's just say there are way too many apps today that are accessing your clipboard for seemingly no reason at all. If you are running iOS 14 developer beta 1 and copy an item to your clipboard then the OS will show a pop-up notification at the top of the screen informing you whenever an app has accessed the data in your clipboard. The video below demonstrates this in action. Make sure you watch it in fullscreen so you see the...
Realme C11 gets benchmarked and unboxed before its official announcement Posted: 24 Jun 2020 10:29 AM PDT The Realme C11 (model name RMX2185) ran Geekbench, which gives us an opportunity to learn more about the MediaTek Helio G35 chipset. Also, someone from the Realfans Vietnam Facebook group posted an unboxing of the new gaming-oriented phone. Geekbench reports the motherboard as "oppo6765", which isn't very helpful. However, comparing it to the RMX2027, aka Realme C3 with the Helio G70 chipset, makes it clear that the G35 won't be fastest chip around. JRGRAPH_EXPANDABLE_VERSION = false; GeekBench 4.4 (single-core) Higher is better Realme C3 1812 Realme C11 ...

YouTube resolution has been limited to all iOS and iPadOS devices due to a codec compatibility issue. YouTube encodes its videos in two codecs, AVC1 (h.264) or Google's own VP9. However, while VP9 encoded videos are available in all resolutions and frame rate options, AVC1 encoded videos are only available up to 1080p60 resolution.
