Samsung Pay Card is in the works in partnership with Curve

Posted: 24 Jun 2020 07:16 AM PDT

Samsung and Curve announced a partnership that will bring the Samsung Pay Card later this year. If you haven't heard of Curve, it's a fintech company that created the Curve Card, which pretends to be a normal Mastercard debit card but is more of an all-in-one solution. You don't keep money in a Curve account, instead you add cards from other banks and decide which card you'd like to spend from each time using an app on your phone. The Curve Card is like a gateway to various bank (and loyalty) cards. The reason this is needed is that it's a shortcut for Samsung - instead of partnering...

Posted: 24 Jun 2020 06:29 AM PDT

Oppo has brought its Reno3 Pro 5G smartphone outside China - it hit Western Europe as the Find X2 Neo, while the Eastern part of the company will get it under its original name. Also you shouldn't confuse the phone with the non-5G Reno3 Pro that we already reviewed - this one has an AMOLED screen with curved sides and a single punch hole for the selfie camera. When you take the Midnight Black Reno3 Pro 5G out of the box, it feels nicely thin and light, but in the same time feels sturdy and reliable. Oppo ships the Reno3 Pro 5G with a 30W fast charger in the box - it is the...

TCL 10 Pro and 10L get their first discounts and software updates

Posted: 23 Jun 2020 07:02 PM PDT

If you're stuck wondering which exact phone to buy, how about a mid-ranger from a company that's not really known for using its brand on smartphones? Jokes aside, the TCL 10 Pro and 10L are solid mid-rangers, which launched back in May, after an April announcement. Now, a bit over a month after their initial availability, they're getting their first software updates. Not just that, but they've gotten cheaper too. TCL 10 Pro Let's address the updates first. Apple sends mysterious update to the AirPods Pro

Posted: 23 Jun 2020 04:57 PM PDT

Yesterday during its online WWDC event, Apple announced a couple of new features headed to its AirPods Pro: seamless switching between audio sources (as long as they're all Apple devices), and "Spatial Audio" surround sound. Today, coincidentally or not, the company has started sending out a firmware update to the AirPods Pro, which will take them from version 2D15 to version 2D27. Unfortunately Apple doesn't publish changelogs for its AirPods updates, so we don't yet know if this is the one that enables all those new features or not. It's also not very easy to get, as with all...

Samsung Galaxy A31 in for review

Posted: 23 Jun 2020 02:03 PM PDT

What makes a great midranger? A bright and crisp display, capable cameras and a large battery paired with a power-efficient chipset, perhaps. That's exactly what Samsung is thinking with the Galaxy A31, which is the latest Galaxy A-series member to arrive at our doorstep. Based on looks alone it might be easy to mistake it for another recent Galaxy A-member - the A41 and a closer comparison reveals plenty of similarities. The Galaxy A31 actually brings a larger 6.4-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display, an extra 5MP macro camera to go along with the 48MP primary and 5MP ultrawide shooters...

The Redmi K40 will be a 5G phone, MIIT listing confirms

Posted: 23 Jun 2020 01:14 PM PDT

The Xiaomi M2006J10C is back - this will probably launch as the Redmi K40 or perhaps the Xiaomi Mi CC10. Earlier it was spotted at the 3C with a 33W charger, the same that comes in the Redmi K30 Pro retail box. Now the phone has appeared on MIIT. The Chinese wireless regulator certified the phone for usage on 5G networks. Not surprising, perhaps as the K30 phones are already 5G-enabled thanks to their Snapdragon 865 and 765G chipsets. MIIT's certification of the M2006J10C (likely the Redmi K40) The vanilla Redmi K40 probably won't use an 800-series chip, though. It was rumored to...

During an investor's call, EA's CEO Andrew Wilson said that the publishing company is looking to release the wildly popular battle royale game Apex Legends for mobile as well. Since the game is already available for Xbox, PC and PlayStation it's only natural for EA to try to capitalize on the growing mobile gaming segment. With the success Fortnite for mobile and PUBG Mobile are seeing, it was...
