Google pushes back Android 11 Beta Launch Show once again Posted: 30 May 2020 06:00 AM PDT Google's Android 11 roadmap has been hitting all sorts of snags lately. The original Google I/O May 12 to May 14 event was canceled entirely, due to COVID-19. With it, the anticipated Android 11 Beta release morphed into a fourth Developer Preview build of the OS. The then scheduled June 1 Launch Show online event was later postponed to June 3. And in the latest development, that date has now been scrapped, as well, pushing the whole thing back an undetermined amount of time. We are excited to tell you more about Android 11, but now is not the time to celebrate. We are postponing the June...
Samsung Galaxy M01 and M11 launching in India on June 2 Posted: 30 May 2020 04:00 AM PDT A few days ago, we heard quite a bit of chatter about the Galaxy M01 and M11 coming to India as early as the start of June. Now we have an even more specific date and time for the launch - June 2 at 12PM. The specific time is a bit unexpected, since it seems unlikely for Samsung to hold and actual event for the budget pair. Still, we could be treated to some formal unveiling, even if it is a scheduled promo video. Alternatively, you can expect to see listings go up online. We'll likely be keeping a closer eye on the Galaxy M01 ourselves, since, unlike the M11, its specs sheet is...
Vivo X50 Pro+ flagship pops-up in new leak Posted: 30 May 2020 02:00 AM PDT Vivo's new X50 family is just around the corner and should be officially unveiled on June 1. After a myriad of leaks and official teasers, over the last few weeks, we honestly thought that we had a good idea of what to expect from the upcoming vanilla X50 and the X50 Pro. In a fresh new plot twist, though, we now have an image detailing a third X50 Pro+ model. This one - a proper Snapdragon 865 flagship. vivo X50 lineup specs A potentially confusing revelation, this new development does explain certain inconsistencies from the last few days. Mainly, the fact that the X50 Pro was...
Oppo Reno4 Pro renders leak in Black and White ahead of launch Posted: 29 May 2020 10:49 PM PDT On Friday, Oppo revealed a teaser video that confirms the Reno4 Pro will be announced on Friday, June 5. The Reno4 will also make an appearance, and we've recently seen photos of this phone appear in red and blue "Glow" models. A new set of high-quality renders were published on Weibo with the Reno4 Pro in black and white. The Oppo Reno4 and Reno4 Pro are 5G phones powered by the Snapdragon 765G chipset and have punch-hole selfie cameras with curved-edge displays. One will have dual 32+2MP cameras while the other has a 32MP selfie shooter. Both phones have three triple main...
Samsung Galaxy Note20's battery could be 4,300 mAh after all Posted: 29 May 2020 07:05 PM PDT Samsung's Galaxy Note20+ will apparently have a 4,500 mAh battery, but what about the (slightly) smaller Note20? Back in April, word on the streets was 4,000 mAh. Now though, it looks like Samsung has managed to cram a bit more juice into the Note20's cell. After digging through the Chinese 3C's certification database, the enterprising folks at SamMobile have figured out that the model number for the battery that's going to be used in the Chinese version of the Note20 is EB-BN980ABY. Oh, and its capacity is 4,300 mAh. That's marginally better than what was thought before, and in...
Samsung Galaxy A71s 5G UW is headed to Verizon Posted: 29 May 2020 03:53 PM PDT Verizon is getting ready to add another mid-range Samsung smartphone to its 5G roster, complete with support for its ultrafast mmWave network of course. This will be a reinterpreted Galaxy A71, except, unlike the already announced A71 5G, Big Red's model will be powered by a different chipset and have a different name. It's going to be called Galaxy A71s 5G UW, to fit with what seems to be Verizon's newfound naming scheme (read: tacking "5G UW" to the end of device monikers left and right, where "UW" stands for "UltraWideband" aka mmWave). The Galaxy A71s 5G UW may very well look...

Realme X3 SuperZoom in for review Posted: 29 May 2020 11:01 AM PDT The Realme X2 Pro was launched last year, and its successor as the brand's flagship is actually the Realme X50 Pro 5G. However, the company decided to branch out its X family laterally and earlier this week unveiled the Realme X3 SuperZoom with Snapdragon 855+ chipset for the European market. We now have the phone with us and the review is already underway, but while you wait we though we'd share our initial impressions of this unique phone. The X3 SuperZoom is the first Realme device with a periscope telephoto camera - an 8MP sensor behind 122mm lens, which the company marks...
LG ramping up production for iPad LCD panels Posted: 29 May 2020 09:43 AM PDT Industry insiders report that Apple has asked LG to ramp up production significantly of LCD panels for iPads. Reportedly, the surge in demand for big-screen devices during the pandemic in Asia has asked for an uptick in manufacturing. Initially, Apple lowered its orders to LG and its other suppliers as the company expected a significant drop in sales. But LG is forced to react fast to the changing demand so it doesn't fall behind the competition coming from Japan's Sharp and China's BOE Display. Source
