The Oppo Watch was the Chinese phone maker's latest announcement into the wearable space and according to a set of patent renders submitted to the intellectual property office of China, Oppo might be announced another wearable very soon. It's not quite a fully featured smartwatch like the Oppo Watch, but as per these renders, Oppo appears to be planning to release a new fitness band. The renders in question show a long, pebble-shaped device with a small display on top, and charging pins and sensor cut-outs at the bottom, likely denoting a heart rate sensor. Patent...

Google Duo ups group video calling limit to 12 participants

Posted: 27 Mar 2020 10:39 PM PDT

Google's Duo app is still alive, which is slightly surprising given the company's propensity to release messaging and social networking apps and then shut them down afterwards. Not only is it still alive, but it now allows you to have group video calls that have up to 12 participants. The previous limit was 8, so that's a nice 50% increase. Unsurprisingly, this is connected to the COVID-19 pandemic wreaking havoc through the world right now. A lot of people are stuck at home and so video calling and video conferencing are really taking off now like never before. The new expanded...

A joint report from The Verifier and YouTube iUpdate reveal some of the new features that are rumored to arrive with the next-generation Apple Watch, and one other significant feature is rumored as well: Touch ID. As per the report, a future Apple Watch could see Touch ID authentication embedded into the crown. The next Apple Watch is also expected to come with improved water resistance. Currently, the Apple Watch Series 5 has a rating of...

Deal: get a Samsung Galaxy Note10+ for just $769.99 ($330 off)

Posted: 27 Mar 2020 07:00 PM PDT

Since the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra stole its spotlight recently, you may have forgotten all about the Galaxy Note10+, the Korean company's previous flagship smartphone. Or, alternatively, you may have been expecting it to feature in more deals now that the S20 family is official. Well, you would've been right on the latter. Sure, the Note10+ isn't exactly directly comparable to any S20 model because of the S Pen, but anyway, long story short, here's a great deal on it. An eBay seller with a stellar review score is offering the Galaxy Note10+ for just $769.99. That's a...

Samsung Galaxy M11 press renders leak alongside full specs

Posted: 27 Mar 2020 06:00 PM PDT

Samsung may have simplified its mid-range lineups by sticking with only the A and M series, but both of these have recently become increasingly crowded. And that isn't about to stop now. Case in point: there's a Galaxy M11 headed our way, at some point in the (presumably near) future. This device has already been certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance, and it was recently spotted in the Google Play Console. Today, a full set of press renders see the light of day, along with the list of specs we should expect. Let's dive in. Samsung Galaxy M11 in black, purple, and Sky Blue The...

OnePlus promises always-on display feature with a future update

Posted: 27 Mar 2020 04:51 PM PDT

When the OnePlus 6 launched back in 2018, the phone shipped to reviewers with a pre-production software that had an always-on display feature. The functionality was later removed when the phone started shipping to customers as OnePlus feared it would drain the battery too much. And it has since been one of the most requested features by OxygenOS users. Well, the company finally committed to delivering always-on in a recent tweet. It said that the feature is in the roadmap and will arrive in a future update. Unfortunately, the tweet didn't go into specifics so we don't know how much...

Motorola One is finally receiving Android 10

Posted: 27 Mar 2020 03:59 PM PDT

The original Motorola One smartphone launched almost two years ago, but it's still not forgotten. It's maker is now seeding the Android 10 update to it. The update has been spotted in Brazil and has build number QPK30.54-22. Aside from the inherent Android 10 features such as system-wide dark mode and more granular control over location permissions, the OTA update also includes the February 2020 security patch. It appears to be a staged rollout so you might have to wait a couple of days for Motorola to start seeding the new firmware in your region. In the meantime, you can try to...

Posted: 27 Mar 2020 03:09 PM PDT

Here's the new Realme 6 Pro, which was unveiled at the beginning of the month and which we handled for a brief time shortly after its announcement. Now that we have a market-ready unit at the office, we've started work on the review, but wanted to share a quick first look with the device. The retail package covers the basics - a USB-A to USB-C cable, 30W charger and a nice silicone case. The Realme 6 Pro brings a few key improvements over its predecessor - it has a bigger screen with a higher 90Hz refresh rate, a faster 8nm Snapdragon 720 chipset, bigger battery and better...

iPhone 12 production is not getting delayed, insider claims

Posted: 27 Mar 2020 02:12 PM PDT

There are conflicting reports as to whether Apple will delay the launch of the new iPhone 12. Yesterday, a Nikkei report claimed that Cupertino is considering delaying the launch by a couple of months, today a report from Digitimes refutes that claim. PCB suppliers for the upcoming 5G iPhones have not been asked to delay volume production, claims an insider. They do specify "5G", though, so the iPhone 9 delay may very well be real. Delay or no delay, Taiwanese PCB maker Tripod (which posted record revenues and profits last year) is wary of the effects that COVID-19 will have on its...

Honor 30 leaks points to P40-like camera, including a similar 50MP main sensor

Posted: 27 Mar 2020 12:25 PM PDT

The Honor 30 will be quite close to the flagship Huawei P40 in terms of camera hardware, if the latest info from @OnLeaks is correct. The leakster published some enticing details plus a sketch of the device (which may not be 100% accurate). The main camera will use a 50MP Sony IMX7xx sensor with 4-in-1 pixel binning (resulting in 2.24µm pixels). It seems like it's not the same sensor as the one in the P40, however (which has slightly larger pixels). An earlier leak showed that it's still a massively impressive sensor, 1/1.3" in size. And it will have Full-Pixel autofocus, what Huawei...
