| Google has 3 new apps that could help reduce phone addiction Posted: 21 Jan 2020 08:01 AM PST After warding-off its fair share of ridicule and snarky comments, Google's Digital Wellbeing is still very-much alive and doing perfectly well. It even now occupies, what seems to be, a permanent spot within AOSP and has been steadily trickling down to various other Android flavors. Clearly, it is going something right, seeing how Google has never been known to stick with services and features that don't fit its current vision and have dropped out of favor. In fact, Google appears to be playing with even more tech concepts, related to the modern issue of excessive phone use. A trio... |

| Huawei will bring a $150 5G phone by year's end or early 2021 Posted: 21 Jan 2020 05:33 AM PST Huawei is working to deliver a 5G phone at an about CNY 1028 (around $150) price by this year's end, or early next year. At the moment the cheapest 5G phone costs CNY 2,000 (around $290) but most command a price of CNY 3,000 (~$430) or higher, so a phone for around CNY 1,000 would enable a lot more people to experience 5G. The recently-unveiled MediaTek 1000L and Qualcomm Snapdradon 765G chipsets with optional 5G modem integration should allow 5G connectivity on a number of midrangers. Up until this point 5G connectivity was mostly a flagship-exclusive feature. Huawei and... |

Despite the positive outlook, Gartner projects... |
