MediaTek unveils Helio G70 chipset for entry-level gaming phones

MediaTek unveiled a new gaming-oriented chipset for entry-level phones (and possibly some of the more affordable mid-rangers). The MediaTek Helio G70 is built on the same 12nm process as the G90 but scales back on the computational resources. The chip houses two Cortex-A75 cores at 2GHz, plus six A55 cores. The Helio G90 has a similar setup, though it uses newer A76 cores, which are faster at the same clock speed than the A75. Today the company brought in two more partners - Cerence and Luxoft - to strengthen its In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) system. Just last month the first Redmi phone with a high refresh rate screen came out, the Redmi K30 and its 5G variant had 120Hz IPS LCD panels.
