| Weekly poll results: Samsung Galaxy A71 outshines its sibling, the A51 Posted: 22 Dec 2019 05:00 AM PST Last week's poll shows that Samsung has a potential hit on its hands - the Galaxy A71 received strong support. However, its retail price is yet to be announced, so we'll see how that goes. Its sibling, the Galaxy A51, didn't fare as well, only getting 40% positive vote, which was nearly even with the "the A71 is better" option at 35%. We do know the price of this one, $350/310, which is above the asking price of premium mid-rangers in the Redmi and Realme lineups. That should be an even bigger worry for the Galaxy A71 as it will inevitably cost more (we described it as the... |

The competition doesn't... |

With nearly 70,000 votes across three categories for almost 60 phones, you picked those to compete in the final round. Midrangers The battle between Xiaomi and Samsung gets heated in this category. The Redmi Note 8 family has two representatives - the Redmi Note 8 Pro boasts a larger display with HDR and a significant boost in performance (it's the first phone powered by the Helio G90T chipset). Also, it upgrades the main camera on the... |
| Best phone of 2019: Vote for the best in the entry level Posted: 21 Dec 2019 09:00 PM PST The preliminary stage of our public vote for the best phones of 2019 got intriguing, but in the end, five phones from the three main categories emerged. With nearly 70,000 votes across three categories for almost 60 phones, you picked those to compete in the final round. | Flashback: the Nokia N91 was legendary for its audio quality, but was a one-off Posted: 21 Dec 2019 06:00 PM PST Nokia unveiled the Nseries in 2005 with three devices - the N70, N90 and the star of today's article, the Nokia N91. The announcement came in early 2005, but DRM issues pushed the release back to 2006. Still, this was a hotly-anticipated phone, winning the "Most Innovative" award from the Mobile News Awards. It was worth the wait too, the N91 was widely considered to have the best audio quality of any phone. It sported a 3.5mm headphone jack, making it compatible with the best headphones on the market. Nokia recommended several Sennheiser, JBL, Harman Kardon and Bose headsets in its press... |
