| Weekly poll results: when it comes to zoom, more is better Posted: 03 Nov 2019 12:00 AM PDT  While they are exceedingly rare, it's the telephoto cameras with 5x optical zoom that people want. That option was the clear favorite in last week's poll. 2x optical zoom was declared nearly useless as 48MP cameras are pretty common in the mid-range and up, plus there are already a number of phones with 64MP cams. These high resolution sensors can do 2x digital zoom (usually the fancier "hybrid zoom") while maintaining decent quality. We happen to have both at the office and now it gets its turn to stand in the limelight. Visually, the X2 and its Pro sibling have a lot in common. | Motorola One Hyper launch imminent as it bags NBTC certification Posted: 02 Nov 2019 02:00 PM PDT  We've been hearing about Motorola's first pop-up selfie camera smartphone since early September, which will be called One Hyper. There's no word from Motorola about the One Hyper yet, but it seems the smartphone will go official soon since it has been NBTC certified in Thailand.
