Apple will finally let you repair your out-of-warranty iPhone at independent shops Posted: 29 Aug 2019 02:00 PM PDT Apple came out with an unexpected announcement that it will finally let independent repair shops fix iPhones that are out of warranty. It's all part of the Independent Repair Provider Program and it basically provides parts, tools and training to shops that want to work with genuine Apple hardware. For now, the program is available only in North America but it's about to expand in the future to other regions in Europe and Asia. But out of warranty repairs are limited mostly to breaks like the front or back glass panels, cracked camera lenses, etc. It's still a major win for customers... |
