| Realme X will launch in India later this year, CEO reveals price Posted: 29 May 2019 07:00 AM PDT The sixth episode of the #AskMadhav Q&A show is up and it has some good news: the Realme X will launch in India in the second half of this year. The brand's Indian CEO Madhav Sheth even gave a pretty narrow price range for the phone - INR 18,000 to INR 20,000. That's slightly higher than the price in China (which works out to INR 15,000). The team is still considering what specs will be best for that market (presumably this refers to the RAM and storage configuration). That will determine the final price. Sheth also mentions the Realme 3 Pro (which was renamed to "X Lite" in China).... |
| The Redmi K20 and K20 Pro will be known as Poco F2, Mi 9T in overseas markets Posted: 29 May 2019 06:00 AM PDT Since the new Redmi K20-series are already out in China, it's time for Xiaomi's sub-brand to focus on the international market. The latest piece of information, however, comes as a surprise because it seems that in some countries, the handsets won't come out under the Redmi brand. The Redmi K20 Pro is said to appear as Pocophone F2 Pro while the vanilla K20 will be named Pocophone F2. This also means that the phones will be called Poco F2 and Poco F2 Pro in India. The source also claims that both phones will retain their amazing price tags. And almost certain, darlings. The Redmi K20 is... |

It comes with 5G capabilities and is built on the 7nm process, and is also the first platform that includes ARM's Cortex-A77 CPU and Mali-G77 GPU. The announcement was part of this year's Computex, taking place in Taiwan. The 5G modem is integrated with the Helio M70, allowing all smartphones with the chipset to use the 5G standalone and non-standalone sub-6GHz networks. It also supports 2G, 3G and 4G networks, when the device is in an area not covered by 5G antennas. Joe Chen, MediaTek... |

| Samsung patents DeX Live, will offer wireless display mirroring Posted: 29 May 2019 03:30 AM PDT Each year Samsung refines its DeX platform allowing users to expand their phone's functionality to a desktop setup. The Galaxy S8 line introduced the first generation docking station which was followed by a refined version which came with the Galaxy S9 duo. Last year's Note9 came with the ability to run the full DeX experience via a USB-C to HDMI cable and now Samsung is looking to bring the DeX experience wirelessly. This means that future Samsung phones and tablets will be able to power the full DeX experience without the need for docking stations or cables. Yesterday the company... |

The Redmi brand manager Lu Weibing promised earlier this month "a new flagship with Android Q", but no one expected such an early arrival of the K20 Pro on the program. While Redmi K20 Pro is yet to launch, with its first flash sale scheduled for Saturday, you can always merge your Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G or Xiaomi Mi 9 flagship to the latest Android. | T-Mobile discovered to be silently testing its 5G network in New York City Posted: 29 May 2019 12:15 AM PDT T-Mobile has already been testing its own 5G network before its officially launches its initial markets. Currently, T-Mobile doesn't sell any 5G-compatible handsets, but one Twitter user @Milanmilanovic has been able to pick up 5G signal in many parts of the island of Manhattan. According to a previous tweet of his, Milan attempted to pick up 5G signal using an unlocked Verizon Galaxy S10 5G. It was only yesterday that Milan was able to get a signal and pull speed tests over T-Mobile's 5G network. We now know that T-Mobile might plan to launch New York City as one of the first markets for... |
| Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are once again $200 off, until June 17 Posted: 28 May 2019 10:45 PM PDT With the launch of the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have gotten less interesting for a lot of people. Sure, they have some features that the cheaper models don't - like glass and metal sandwich builds and wireless charging and last year's top dog SoC from Qualcomm. But what about those prices? The Pixel 3 usually starts at $799, while the 3 XL starts at $899. That's a lot for handsets that have just 4GB of RAM, one rear camera, and bezels like it's 2016 (plus the ugliest notch of them all on the XL). If that's too much for you to pay, how about $599 for a Pixel 3... |

OnePlus has already promised to bring these to its flagships from last year, and today it has delivered on that promise. These will be received as over-the-air updates by those who are enrolled on the OnePlus beta track. The new builds come with Zen Mode and Screen Recorder built-in, as well as an... |
| Here's what the Galaxy Note10's rear camera arrangement might look like Posted: 28 May 2019 09:00 PM PDT Samsung's been a fan of centrally-aligned rear camera setups on its flagship S and Note lines for a few years now, but the company may be looking to change things with the upcoming Galaxy Note10. As the number of cameras and sensors on the back increases, it's getting pretty hard to fit all of them in a manner that doesn't prove to be unsightly - just ask Apple about its rumored camera hump on the 2019 iPhones. Samsung's solution to this problem might look something like this: This render was created based on a leaked schematic of the Note10's purported rear camera arrangement.... |
| iOS 13's Dark Mode reveals itself in leaked screenshots Posted: 28 May 2019 08:00 PM PDT Apple is officially announcing iOS 13 next Monday, on June 3, at its annual developer conference. That's when we expect to find out all about the new features that the OS will be packing when it's released to the public this fall. One of the constantly rumored additions to iOS 13 has been Dark Mode, and today the screenshots below have leaked purportedly showing it in action. As the name implies, this is a dark theme, but as the screenshots show, it's going to use true black backgrounds, at least in certain built-in apps like Music. This looks great on an AMOLED screen (which the... |
| Realme X won't arrive in India before the second half of the year Posted: 28 May 2019 07:00 PM PDT If you're in India and anxiously anticipating the launch of the new Realme X in the subcontinent, here's some bad news: you still have some waiting to do. Earlier this month Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth revealed that the Realme X would be headed over there "soon", but now both he and the official Realme India support account on Twitter have elaborated further and it's not great. It turns out "soon" actually means "sometime in the second half of this year". No matter how optimistic you choose to be in interpreting that, it's clear that the phone will not arrive in the subcontinent this... |
| Redmi K20 and K20 Pro will be sold in Russia as Xiaomi Mi 9T and Mi 9T Pro Posted: 28 May 2019 06:00 PM PDT Today Xiaomi's sub-brand unveiled the flagship Redmi K20 Pro, alongside the very similar K20 (which has a downgraded chipset). These phones are very competitively priced for the Chinese market, but the question you're probably asking yourself is whether they will be offered elsewhere. The answer for Europe seems to be a resounding yes, but there is a caveat. It looks like the K20 will end up being called Xiaomi Mi 9T, while the K20 Pro will go by Mi 9T Pro. That is true for the Russian market, according to a new report, and a few days ago we heard something similar would happen in... |

| Samsung suspends latest S10 software update due to stability issues Posted: 28 May 2019 03:00 PM PDT Last week Samsung issued out a software patch for its S10 lineup, which aimed to bring camera improvements alongside the May security patch. Other S10 owners reported slowdowns and unresponsiveness with the fingerprint sensor. After the negative feedback, Samsung decided to pull out the update and reseed it when it fixes the issues. | Huawei's Android replacement could be called Ark OS Posted: 28 May 2019 01:00 PM PDT When Google revoked Huawei's Android license on May 20, it seems it set in motion Huawei's backup plan to move to its in-house OS, which was internally called HongMeng OS. Now we've learned that Huawei's own OS will likely be called Ark OS. The information comes from a reported trademark request by Huawei to the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) for HUAWEI ARK OS, HUAWEI ARK, ARK and ARK OS, made on May 24. It's not clear yet at what stage of development Huawei's Ark OS is. But it's fair to say that the maker has been thinking about a separate OS since 2015. A recent... |
