Flashback: famous phones featured in blockbuster movies (The Matrix, Iron Man) Posted: 04 Apr 2021 07:22 AM PDT A few years ago we looked through the history of Sony (Ericsson) phones used in James Bond movies. But 007 is not the only fictional character that has been used to promote a particular handset. The Nokia 7110 is known for appearing in The Matrix, however, that is a myth – it was actually a Nokia 8110 that was modified to have a spring-loaded keypad cover. The 7110 was unveiled a month ahead of the movie's premiere and, unlike its predecessor, it did have a sprint-loaded cover. The 7110 is also famous for being the first phone to run the Series 40 software and to feature a WAP... |

Weekly poll results: the fans rebel against OnePlus' switch to the mainstream Posted: 04 Apr 2021 12:43 AM PDT It looks like OnePlus has angered its fans – the results from last week's poll show that voters were against the new models 4 to 1. We rarely see a result quite so negative, however, it seems that not everyone shares this opinion. The OnePlus 9 series raked in pre-orders much higher than last year's 8 series, eclipsing it by over 300%. The pre-order period ended this week with the OnePlus 9 Pro going on sale in multiple regions around the world on Wednesday. The vanilla OnePlus 9 became available a few days before that. Then there's the OnePlus 9R, a revamped 8T. That is still a... |

The unit we have today is the Intel Core i5-10210U-powered model with an NVIDIA GeForce MX350 GPU with the rest basically unchanged.
