iPhone 12 Pro to miss on 120Hz screen due to supply issues Posted: 24 Aug 2020 03:17 AM PDT Industry insider Ross Young has some bad news for Apple fans. He's got a good track record with its recent predictions and if the latest one comes up true, the iPhone 12 Pro models will miss on a major feature - the 120Hz screen refresh rate. Hearing that Apple can get 120Hz Pro panels, but not 120Hz driver ICs. So they will either have to come up with a fix which will be difficult, wait for 120Hz driver ICs and delay the launch possibly significantly or launch with 60Hz. We are hearing they will launch with 60Hz.— Ross Young (@DSCCRoss) August 24, 2020 People in the supply chain say...

Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra's Victus glass impresses in drop test Posted: 24 Aug 2020 01:41 AM PDT Samsung brought the Galaxy Note20 Ultra with sheets of Gorilla Glass Victus on the front and the back - the successor to the Gorilla Glass 6, which promised better scratch and shatter protection. The YouTube channel PhoneBuff subjected the phone to its usual drop test and compared it with Apple's top dog - the iPhone 11 Pro Max. You can watch the results below. Dropping a phone on its back is usually worse than the front because the camera bump offsets the contact point - instead of having a massive flat surface to dissipate the energy, the camera setup creates weak points, not to...

Week 34 in review: Galaxy S20 Fan Edition, Zenfone 7/7 Pro leak Posted: 23 Aug 2020 11:47 AM PDT Another week is over and done, so let's look at the top stories. Thus Huawei effectively is left without access to US-based chips and chip technology and could end up without a chip supplier for its phones. We spotted renders of what could prove to be the Sony Xperia 5 II. While we're very eager for a successor to the tiny and powerful Xperia of 2019, this likely isn't it as the renders look like a miniaturized version of the Xperia 1 II so were likley...
