| Xiaomi Mi Band 4C debuts with direct USB-A charging and sub-$20 price tag Posted: 17 Jul 2020 07:52 AM PDT Xiaomi introduced a Redmi Band back in April that has a USB-A port for a direct charge, while sharing many of its features with the Mi Band 4. Now, the wearable has escaped China and overseas market number one is Taiwan, where it will sell as Xiaomi Mi Band 4C. The Xiaomi Mi Band 4C actually has some advantages over the Mi Band 4, despite being cheaper. We are looking at a bigger OLED screen and no extra cables or chargers due to the integrated USB-A port. The battery is supposed to live 14 days, instead of the promised 20 for the regular 4, but it is still a decent endurance on a... |

| Facebook Messenger adds screen sharing over video calls on Android and iOS Posted: 16 Jul 2020 08:38 PM PDT Facebook has added yet another new feature to Messenger in its quest to make the app the Zoom for most people - so to speak. This is currently in the process of going live in the Facebook Messenger apps for Android and iOS, allowing you to instantly share your screen with friends and family, either one-on-one or in group video calls. This works in group video calls with up to eight people, and 16 people in Rooms, because confusingly you can video call in Messenger both directly through a group as well as through a Room. Through screen... |

We're talking about Freedom Mobile, and the company says you'll be able to buy the handset for CAD 189, which currently translates into $139 or €122. T-Mobile announces Scam Shield, which is a new app coming to Android and iOS. This will give customers more control over which calls are blocked, and T-Mobile can automatically begin blocking suspected spam calls. Basically, any number that isn't "verified" by T-Mobile could be a scam... |

It complements the full-auto video recording capabilities of the main camera app on the smartphone and offers more nuanced control over the shooting process. We tested it back then and you can read our findings and watch a sample video shot on the Xperia 1 here. The Xperia 1 II we got to review recently comes with an updated version of the Cinema Pro app and we were interested to see if Sony had addressed the issues we encountered last time around so we went out... |
