Weekly poll results: Redmi 9 gets a warm reception Posted: 21 Jun 2020 06:47 AM PDT Flagship prices have shot up sky-high, are entry-level phones following a similar trajectory? Well, the Redmi 9 may be pricier than its predecessor, but it still got a lot of positive vibes in last week's poll. The MediaTek Helio G80 chipset is quite powerful for the segment. People were already discussing how well it will handle games at 1080p in order to put that higher resolution screen to good use. The Mali-G52 MC2 should hit 30 fps easily and go up to 60 fps in less demanding games. This GPU is comparable to the Adreno 612 (that's the GPU inside the Moto One Zoom and the Galaxy A70...
LG Velvet Dual Screen in for review Posted: 21 Jun 2020 04:01 AM PDT LG has been on the back foot in the smartphone market for a few years now, but the company's attempt at a fight back stats here. The Korean manufacturer launched the LG Velvet - a midranger with focus on design, 5G support and the unique dual screen attachment. The device is already selling in Europe for 650, but the package includes goodies worth €400 on their own so it looks like a proper deal. The LG Velvet really stands out in its Illusion Sunset color. It isn't a color per se - it is a mirrored finish that in theory is somewhere in the cross-section of red, pink, and...
Weekly poll: can the HTC U20 5G and Desire 20 Pro win over a new generation of customers? Posted: 21 Jun 2020 01:11 AM PDT Some Android users have an HTC-shaped hole in their hearts - the maker was known for its premium build quality and beautiful Android customizations, plus the audio hardware was always on point. While the company has fallen on hard times, it's not gone completely. In fact, just this week it unveiled two new Android 10 mid-rangers. The HTC U20 5G is one immense phone with a 6.8" display, dwarfing the titan of yesteryear, the HTC One Max (5.9"). There isn't much to say about this display besides noting its size, it's a 1080p LCD with 20:9 aspect ratio, standard 60Hz refresh rate, no HDR,...
Realme X3 spotted on GeekBench with 12GB of RAM Posted: 20 Jun 2020 10:34 PM PDT We are well aware that a vanilla Realme X3 is on the horizon. It was even teased in an official video, alongside text referring to the company's "next flagship". This, naturally, puts certain expectations on the specs of the handset. Ones that, however, leaks still can't quite back-up or agree on. Last time we got some alleged numbers, regarding the regular Realme X3 was from a Google Play Console entry, which included a display resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels, Android 10 OS and for the more perplexing bits - a Snapdragon 855+ and 8GB of RAM. Realme X3 GeekBench run That...
Flashback: Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini, the smallest Android with the biggest heart Posted: 20 Jun 2020 08:01 PM PDT The Xperia X10 brought renewed focus in Sony Ericsson's smartphone strategy - it went all in on Android, leaving behind experimentation with Symbian and Windows Mobile. Its 4.0" display was fairly large for the day, this was back when people railed against large phones. If you still feel that way, you've certainly considered buying one of the Xperia Z Compact phones in recent years. But Sony Ericsson's journey to become king of the premium minis didn't start with the Compact series. In fact, it was part of Sony's Android strategy from the beginning. The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini is...
Samsung Galaxy M01s and Galaxy Watch 3 bag BIS certifications, hinting at imminent release Posted: 20 Jun 2020 05:32 PM PDT A couple of listings from The Bureau of Indian Standards appear to add to the already impressive roster of upcoming new Samsung Devices. We are already expecting the Note20 series, Galaxy Fold 2, the Galaxy Z Flip 5G and potentially a pair of Tab S7 tablets and some TWS Buds, all at an August 5 unveiling event. We can probably add the Galaxy Watch 3 to the list, as well. A BIS certification typically signifies an imminent release and this particular one lists three distinct device models: SM-R845F, SM-R855F and SM-R850F. The latter one of these is a bit of a mystery, while the other two have...
Realme Watch gets improved notification management, battery optimizations with new update Posted: 20 Jun 2020 02:30 PM PDT The Realme Watch unveiled last month is getting its second software update, sporting version number 81.0. The new firmware brings improved notification management, which now displays up to 10 notifications in the form of a drop-down list on the smartwatch. Previously, the Watch only displayed one notification, like the Realme Band, meaning new alerts replaced the older ones. This has been one of the major complaints from Realme Watch users and we are glad the issue has been finally addressed by the company. The update also adds support for seven new languages to the watch UI and now...
Posted: 20 Jun 2020 12:30 PM PDT Two months ago three Honor 30 smartphones debuted, the mightiest of them called Honor 30 Pro+. And it's exactly that one that we now have in our hands ready to be put through our review routine. Honor 30 Pro+ Coming in the Titanium Silver color, our Honor 30 Pro+ polarized opinions in our office. Not so much the color itself, but the huge letters make this a love it or hate it affair. It's definitely standing out in the crowd, thought - there are no two ways about it. The retail package includes a transparent case, which is exactly what you want if you are among those...

The prospects of a phenomenal launch lineup are sweeter still, since most leaks, thus far, agree that there will be a Plus model, on top of the regular Tab S7 to enjoy. Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ battery certification Today brings a pair of certification documents and some photos of the massive battery inside the Tab S7+. Both TUV Rheinland and Safety Korea certifications reaffirm its... |
