Realme 6i confirmed to feature waterdrop notch display, 16MP selfie camera and 5,000 mAh battery Posted: 15 Mar 2020 06:30 AM PDT The Realme 6i is set to be unveiled on March 17 and the company has already revealed that the smartphone will come with the Helio G80 SoC, 48MP quad camera and 18W fast charging. Now Realme has revealed that 6i will pack a 5,000 mAh battery, which from a previous teaser we know will charge through a USB-C port. The 6i will sport a 16MP selfie shooter, which is an upgrade over the 5i's 8MP front camera. However, this snapper will be housed inside a waterdrop notch, unlike the 6 and 6 Pro's selfie cameras that are placed inside punch holes in the top-left corner of their...
Posted: 15 Mar 2020 04:42 AM PDT Huawei has made it a habit to release the Lite version of its flagship series before the actual flagships, and such is the case with the P40 Lite as well. The phone was initially launched as nova 6 SE in Asia, but was upgraded to a part of the P40 portfolio in Europe and other markets. The phone finally arrived with us for a review, but until that's complete here are our initial impressions. The Huawei P40 Lite is arriving with a Kirin 810 chipset, meaning it is an entirely new platform that is relying on Huawei Mobile Services instead of Google Mobile Services. Huawei is busy...
Weekly poll results: Oppo Find X2 Pro sees a lot of love, the X2 not so much Posted: 15 Mar 2020 02:32 AM PDT Last week Oppo finally announced the successor to the 2018 Oppo Find X. In fact, we now have two successors - the Find X2 and Find X2 Pro. As the name implies, the Pro model adds a couple of extra features on top of the vanilla and it's generally considered to be the proper flagship. And it's by far the better loved of the duo. The results are clear - the X2 Pro has ten times the approval rate of the vanilla X2. Somewhat worryingly for Oppo the "too expensive" option end up the most popular. However the 200 upgrade that gives you better ultrawide and 5x periscope telephoto cameras along...
Xiaomi Mi CC9 starts receiving MIUI 11 based on Android 10 Posted: 15 Mar 2020 12:30 AM PDT Reports from users in China claim that the Xiaomi has started seeding MIUI 11 based on Android 10 to their Mi CC9 handsets. And this is the stable version of the software we are talking about. The update is around 2.3GB big and brings the intrinsic Android 10 features like system-wide dark mode and more granular control over app permissions. Additionally, the changelog says something about fixing some of the issues the phone had with the previous version of the OS and, of course, the February 2020 security patch has also been included in the package. This update hints at a...
Huawei P40 Pro 5G pops up on Geekbench Posted: 14 Mar 2020 10:30 PM PDT The Huawei P40 Pro 5G, arriving on March 26, has passed through Geekbench confirming key specs in the process. The P40 Pro 5G, with model code ELS-NX9, will run Android 10 out of the box and have 8GB RAM onboard. Though there will likely be other RAM options as well that aren't confirmed yet. The benchmark database doesn't reveal the name of the chipset powering the P40 Pro 5G, but it appears it will have the Kirin 990 SoC at the helm, which powers the company's Mate 30 lineup and the Mate Xs foldable smartphone announced last month. This is because the P40 Pro 5G's synthetic...
AppGallery review: Can new Huawei and Honor phones work without Google? Posted: 14 Mar 2020 08:30 PM PDT Introduction Huawei lost access to Google Mobile Services (GMS) in May of last year, but that hasn't stopped the company from launching new devices. To ensure its phones have an uninterrupted supply of apps, the company is now pushing its own app store - called Huawei AppGallery. Huawei has announced it has a new strategy in place to put the AppGallery on the mobile app store map. The company has been pretty aggressive in bringing in developers, going as far as offering perks like 100% revenue share. Huawei will also be focusing on getting local apps on board for its key markets...

In two beta versions of the app, the option to set self-destructing messages in private chats can be found. The app versions are 2.20.83 and 2.20.84 and you can choose the expiry period of the messages between one hour, one day, one week, one month or one year. | See through the eyes of Google Pixel 4's Soli radar system Posted: 14 Mar 2020 04:30 PM PDT The Soli radar system used for the hands-free gesture navigation on the Pixel 4 is the staple of the phone's marketing as it's the first and only phone to utilize the tech. Just the other day, Google gave us a look at what the radar sees and it's fascinating. Check out the three clips below. Google says the tech doesn't require a detailed image of the user or the user's body, eliminating all privacy concerns about the Soli radar. The first image shows a person getting closer to the phone, the second one is reaching for it while the third is the swipe gesture. That's all the radar... |
Sennheiser launches Momentum True Wireless 2 with ANC and improved battery life Posted: 14 Mar 2020 02:30 PM PDT Sennheiser has launched an updated version of its popular Momentum True Wireless ear buds. The Momentum True Wireless 2 features ANC, improved battery life and more. One of the major new features is the inclusion of ANC or active noise cancellation. This is becoming an increasingly common thing to have in premium true wireless earbuds, with both Sony and Apple having popular products on the market. Similar to those models, there is also a Transparent Hearing mode, configurable through the iOS and Android app, that pipes in external audio through the speakers. Of course, we can't comment on...

The Honor 30 lineup will be unveiled in China at the end of the month, here's what we know about its most modest member so far. It will be a 5G-connected phone, thanks to a brand new chipset - the Kirin 820, Huawei's first mid-range 5G chipset. The phone will support 40W fast charging, 10V at 4A, as you can see in the certification by the 3C. We also received a better-looking render from the one that leaked earlier. It shows that the Honor 30S will have a quad-camera -... |
Apple closing its stores outside of China because of COVID-19 Posted: 14 Mar 2020 10:30 AM PDT Apple announced on its website that it's closing down all of its stores outside of China in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. The effort is in line with the world governments trying to minimize social interactions. The stores will remain closed at least until March 27, but those in China re-opened yesterday. This is because the coronavirus cases in China started declining and the government has slowly gained control over the situation. The company will still be selling its products online so you can visit the online store in your region if you are in the market for Apple...
