Redmi K20 Pro matches Pixel 3, beats iPhone XR in DxOMark tests Posted: 11 Oct 2019 06:08 AM PDT The Redmi K20 Pro proved to be a strong contender in DxOMark's camera tests. With an overall score of 102, it matches the Pixel 3 and is a point ahead of the iPhone XR. Keep in mind that this is a 400 phone, significantly more affordable than either of those. The overall score doesn't tell the whole story. The still camera got a score of 108, which puts it close to 2018 flagships - the Galaxy Note9 got 107, the iPhone XS Max got 110 in the still camera tests. The K20 Pro camera is a good overall performer, the main criticisms against it are the limited dynamic range and the occasional... |
Apple plans to build its own 5G modem in 2022 iPhones Posted: 11 Oct 2019 05:11 AM PDT Apple bought Intel's modem business earlier this year in an attempt to develop another piece of its hardware in-house without being dependent on partners and their pace of research and development. There's still a lot of work to be done until that happens though as an inside source revealed that Apple's own 5G modem is not coming to iPhones before 2022. The current chipset supplier for Apple is Qualcomm, and the San Diego chip manufacturer has promised it will deliver 5G modems for the next-year iPhones. However, given the rough year both companies had, fighting in court over... |

In order to showcase how fast the charging actually is, the brand posted a neat video, showing the phone going from 1% to 100% in 30 minutes 53 seconds. Previously, the company confirmed the Snapdragon 855+ chipset, the 90 Hz display and the 256 GB UFS3.0 storage. This, combined with the quad-camera setup, featuring... |
Xiaomi working on phone with 120Hz display and 5X telephoto camera Posted: 11 Oct 2019 03:05 AM PDT Two weeks ago we saw news that Xiaomi is working on a phone capable of recording 8K video at 30fps. Now with the first MIUI 11 beta out, the folks over at XDA Devlopers have discovered a refresh rate toggle in the display settings which comes with a 120 Hz option. This confirms that Xiaomi is indeed working on a phone with the high refresh rate which up until now has only be featured on gaming phones like the two Razer Phones and the Asus ROG Phone II. Refresh rate toggle in MIUI 11 Display settings In addition to the high refresh rate screen, it seems Xiaomi will also offer... |

So far specs have been more than flattering, but now we got to see the actual phone in some hands-on photos that leaked on Weibo. This phone has one obvious difference from its non-Pro sibling - the four-camera setup is now positioned in the center, instead of the top left side. Another interesting thing is the "Realme" sign, sitting horizontally on the right side, but below the shooters. This is truly a unique way to put your logo and we are pretty sure the company will have a... |
