Oppo A9 2020 to arrive with Snapdragon 665 and four cameras

Posted: 02 Sep 2019 07:26 AM PDT

Oppo recently introduced its new Reno lineup with four cameras, but now another series is also getting the quad-cam treatment. The Oppo A9 2020 appeared on the Facebook page of the Vietnamese division of the company and it looks intriguing - four shooters with the main being 48 MP, 5,000 mAh battery and 8 GB RAM. The phone is expected to have 6.5" display and we are hearing it might have an HD+ screen, although with such specs, a 1080p resolution is more believable. It should be an LCD, since the fingerprint scanner is on the back, below the camera setup. A separate leak...

Oppo Reno2 5G appears on TENAA with periscope zoom lens

Posted: 02 Sep 2019 05:37 AM PDT

The Oppo Reno 10x zoom didn't get a successor last week when Oppo unveiled three Reno2 phones. The new flagship seems to be working its way through TENAA, however, or at least its 5G model is. As a reminder, the original Oppo Reno 5G added a Qualcomm X50 5G modem to the 10x zoom hardware. It's not clear if the Reno2 flagship will be split into 4G and 5G versions, however. The Oppo Reno2 5G has a quad camera like its siblings, though the third one from top is clearly a periscope module (notice the telltale square lens). This will give it proper optical zoom - unfortunately, TENAA is yet to...

Realme Q will be water resistant, probably MIL-STD-810G certified as well

Posted: 02 Sep 2019 04:26 AM PDT

The leaked photos of the Realme Q and its retail box didn't tell the whole story - this will be better than just a rebadged Realme 5 Pro. Official teaser posters show that the phone will have a more rugged exterior while keeping the same Snapdragon 712 chipset and 48MP camera as the Pro. The Realme Q promises to survive the 100°C water boiling tests that you may have seen on YouTube. This also entails standard water and dust resistance "beyond the price segment". The Realme Q will be water and drop resistant (IP68 and MIL-STD-810G, perhaps?) The other key spec revealed in the...

Oppo VP teases premium Reno phone with 90Hz screen, maybe 10x zoom successor

Posted: 02 Sep 2019 03:00 AM PDT

The next big thing in mobile displays seems to be high refresh rates. Oppo VP Brian Shen took to Weibo to tease a 90Hz display for the next Oppo Reno phone, which will also support Super VOOC charging. Oppo announced three Reno2 phones last week, but they were mid-rangers using the standard 20W VOOC. Notably, there was no successor to the Oppo Reno 10x zoom. This new Reno with its 90Hz screen and Super VOOC sounds premium enough to be a successor to the 10x. ZTE's nubia sub-brand has a head start. It's teasing the Red Magic 3S, which will have a 90Hz display just like the Red Magic...

Interestingly enough, the 5G variant has the same specs (aside from the 5G modem) down to the size and weight, with only a minor difference of 1 gram, which will be practically unnoticeable due to its 218 g total weight. vivo NEX 3 and...
