Google Pixel 4 XL case renders give us a closer look at the triple camera Posted: 07 Aug 2019 04:30 AM PDT We get another set of Google Pixel 4 XL images, confirming the unsightly camera cutout at the back. This time around they come from a Chinese case maker. The pictures offer a closer look at the back camera design and picture three lenses - main, telephoto and an ultra wide-angle one. The top camera seems a little bigger than on the previous renders, but since case makers only get info about the size of cutouts required we wouldn't read anything into the actual elements pictured inside. There's still plenty of time before the October release. Historically, Pixel phones have been... |

Samsung said the 9825 will bring improved gaming experience and graphics performance in a power-efficient package, meaning the upgraded chip is more about... |
Redmi 7A is now available from offline stores in India, more expensive than online Posted: 06 Aug 2019 10:30 PM PDT Xiaomi's Redmi 7A has so far been available through online sales, but that is changing today. The entry-level smartphone is now also available through offline retail channels, but there is a catch. Buying the device from a physical store instead of online will command an INR 200 price premium. So while the base model with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage costs INR 5,999 online, to buy this one from a brick-and-mortar store you'll pay INR 6,199. Similarly, the version with 32GB of storage is priced at INR 6,199 online, and INR 6,399 offline. So you'll be eating some of the costs of... |
Samsung has a change of heart regarding security updates for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge Posted: 06 Aug 2019 09:30 PM PDT Back in June Samsung decided that the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are old enough that they don't warrant receiving quarterly security updates anymore, so the company bumped them into a category that gets "other" (read: less frequent) updates. That wasn't a huge surprise considering the phones were launched more than three years ago, but now Samsung has changed its mind. Both the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are back on the quarterly security updates train, and this is great news for owners of these devices, regardless of what the reasoning for such a move may be. Even Google only promises three years... |

At the unveiling, the company mentioned that it had partnered with Verizon in the US to let the users connect their wearables to its network. Except this hasn't been possible so far. That will all change in a couple of days. Starting on August 8, Verizon will let you activate a TicWatch Pro 4G on its network. You can do that via the My Verizon app or the website. Wearable plans at the carrier start at $10 per month, and you'll also need to pay a one-time activation fee. The... |
HTC Desire 19+ is coming to Germany for 329 Posted: 06 Aug 2019 07:30 PM PDT HTC may have its fair share of troubles in general, and in the UK in particular, but it's still operating as before in continental Europe. And it's now getting ready to release a new smartphone in Germany. We're talking about the Desire 19+, which got announced for the Taiwanese market back in June. The phone is expected to become available in Germany in the next couple of weeks. It will cost 329, unlocked and SIM-free. That may not seem like much, but the specs the phone brings to the table aren't anything to write home about either. It's got a 6.2-inch 720x1520 19:9 LCD... |
OnePlus 6T is $50 off until the end of the month, comes with free case and headphones Posted: 06 Aug 2019 06:30 PM PDT The OnePlus 6T launched last year is still for sale in the US from the company's website, because for some reason it decided not to launch the OnePlus 7 over there (which is, for all intents and purposes, an evolution of the 6T unlike the 7 Pro which is an entirely new beast in the lineup). From now and up until the end of this month, OnePlus is holding a Back to School promo, cutting the 6T's price by $50 and giving you a couple of free accessories too. With the price cut, the OnePlus 6T now starts at $469, with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. If you want 8GB of RAM, you'll pay $499,... |
AT&T launches 5G in New York City for business customers Posted: 06 Aug 2019 05:30 PM PDT AT&T's 5G network is finally up and running in one of the largest cities in the world - New York City. The catch is that even if you want to, you can't use it right now because it's only available for business customers. Of course, the network is far from ready. It's only available in small spots throughout the city and uses the millimeter wave, which is quite fast but has limited range. Moreover, indoor connections pose a challenge. A more practical implementation of the 5G will come in the following months on the sub-6GHz frequencies while nation-wide coverage should be expected... |

Xiaomi cuts Poco F1 prices in India even further Posted: 06 Aug 2019 03:30 PM PDT One of the main selling points of the Poco F1 was that it launched with an affordable price tag, but that hasn't stopped Xiaomi from slashing the price several times. After the latest round of discounts, the 6/128GB model costs INR 19,000. This not much more than the base 6/64GB model, which is INR 18,000. The price difference is just enough to buy a microSD card, so you can get 64GB now and add more storage later, but keep in mind that internal memory is usually faster and play nicer with some apps. The price of the 8/256GB model fell the steepest - a whopping INR 5,000 discount since... |
