Honor 20 gets Phantom Blue color, on sale tomorrow Posted: 17 Jul 2019 08:00 AM PDT After seeing the kind of warm reception it got, Honor is extending the Phantom Blue paint job from the Honor 20 Pro to the Honor 20. The Jade-esque finish will go on sale in China tomorrow, July 18, priced CNY 2,699 (350) for the 8GB+128GB Honor 20 and CNY 2,999 (390) for the 8GB+256GB top of the line model. Honor 20 in Phantom Blue The addition of the Phantom Blue will get the Honor 20's color tally to four with Midnight Black, Sapphire Blue and Icelandic White as the other options. Specs-wise the Honor 20 is similar to the Honor 20 Pro - it's a lighter, with small changes...

Samsung Galaxy Note10 will come with 25W fast charging, Note10+ goes up to 45W Posted: 17 Jul 2019 07:15 AM PDT As we get closer to Samsung's August 7 Galaxy Unpacked event the trickle of leaks turns into a stream and we get more and more details about the Note10 lineup. The latest bits come courtesy of China's 3C certification agency which approved a 25W fast charger bearing the EP-TA800 model number for the Galaxy Note10. In addition, noted tipster IceUniverse revealed that the Galaxy Note10+ will come with support for 45W fast charging but the bundled charger will only support 25W speeds. We've seen previous hints that the larger Note will support 45W charging so it seems plausible that this...
Lenovo Z6 Pro fails to impress DxOMark, receives a score of 95 Posted: 17 Jul 2019 06:30 AM PDT Lenovo announced the Z6 Pro after a massive teaser campaign, focusing on the camera department and its various modes. Eventually, DxOMark got to the flagship and reviewed its camera, but the results are rather disappointing for such a device - it scored 95 overall, with 103 for photo and 79 for video. Looking at the breakdown of the score, it is obvious the video recording is pulling down what is otherwise a solid still camera. Stabilization is hitting rock bottom, and with four (some might say even five) cameras you would think at least one of them would have proper OIS. Sadly, it...
Global vivo S1 debuts with Helio P65 SoC, 32MP selfie camera Posted: 17 Jul 2019 05:45 AM PDT In its second announcement for today vivo has introduced the S1 smartphone. Despite sharing a name with the S1 launched in China some four months ago, the international vivo S1 is actually a rebadged vivo Y7s. Yes, it's really that confusing. Either way, the global vivo S1 comes with a 6.38" Super AMOLED display of FHD+ resolution and a Helio P65 SoC. RAM is 4GB, while the storage is 128GB. The 25MP pop-up selfie shooter on the Chinese S1 is replaced by a 32MP unit on the global variant which sits inside the waterdrop notch, while the 12MP primary sensor at the back is replaced with...
Xiaomi Mi A3 unveiled with 720p+ OLED screen, S665 chipset, 250 price tag Posted: 17 Jul 2019 04:45 AM PDT The stock Android-running Xiaomi Mi A3 is official, but it's not what we were hoping for - it's based on the Mi CC9e with no upgrades. This means the Android One phone has a 6.1" OLED screen with 720 x 1,560px resolution, quite a downgrade from the 1080p screens of the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite. Wait till you hear the price - it starts at 250. The Snapdragon 665 chipset that powers this phone is not a huge upgrade over the S660 in last year's model. That's for 64GB storage, you can double it to 128GB for 30 more. At least there's a microSD slot so you can add more storage...
Redmi K20 Pro Signature Edition unveiled, comes with diamonds and pure gold Posted: 17 Jul 2019 04:15 AM PDT Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi announced the K20 and K20 Pro's arrival to India today and there was something more at the event. The company also unveiled a special edition of the Pro variant, dubbed K20 Pro Signature Edition. The Redmi K20 Pro Signature Edition is a luxury device that's priced at a whopping INR480,000 which translates to $6,970/6,220. It costs that much because it comes with a back that's made out of solid gold and has a 'K' logo at the bottom-right decorated with diamonds. At this price, the K20 Pro Signature Edition isn't for everyone, and Redmi will only be making 20...
nubia to upgrade Red Magic 3 with Snapdragon 855 Plus Posted: 17 Jul 2019 03:30 AM PDT Who would've expected the gaming smartphone battles will get that fierce? Just days after the announcement from Asus that the new ROG Phone will come with Snapdragon 855 Plus, ZTE's subsidiary nubia said it will update its Red Magic 3 handset with the latest Qualcomm SoC as well. In an announcement on Weibo, the Red Magic account said it isn't afraid of challenges and the trends change so quickly, its latest gaming smartphone will be "soon" upgraded to Snapdragon 855 Plus. Questions remain if the current Red Magic 3 will get a price cut and remain available alongside the new...

While not much else is said, we can expect the phone to enter the ranks of vivo's midrange offerings. The phone is expected to come with a 6.38-inch FHD+... |

While on the inside this is the same as any other Reno 10x zoom, it's what's on the outside that stands out. The new paint job is inspired by FC Barcelona's traditional "blaugrana" colors - that's blue + carmine in English. It's a unique colorway for sure, with a dazzling gradient and you also get the club's logo in the lower part of the device's back through a gold-plated insert. Oppo Reno 10x zoom FC Barcelona Edition UI The UI theme is also new and inspired by FC Barcelona, there... |
vivo Y7s comes with Helio P65 and UD fingerprint scanner Posted: 16 Jul 2019 11:50 PM PDT Remember the vivo S1 that leaked earlier this month with three cameras and Helio P65? Well, today it was launched in China under the name vivo Y7s because the vivo S1 moniker is already occupied by a completely different handset with an elevating selfie camera and a fingerprint scanner on the back. The new phone runs Android 9 with Funtouch OS on top on a 6.38" Super AMOLED screen with a fingerprint sensor undeneath. It is the first phone with the new MediaTek platform that brings slightly upgraded CPU cores. The vivo Y7s' Helio P65 chip brings octa-core processor with two...
Phones with 108MP and 10x optical zoom cameras may be coming next year Posted: 16 Jul 2019 11:00 PM PDT @IceUniverse, who often shares reliable info from insiders, has posted that next year we'll see a phone a 108MP camera and a 10x optical zoom camera. The image accompanying this tweet looks like the Samsung Galaxy Note10, but other than that the cat gave no indications which makers will bring this monster camera phone to market. Interestingly, Credit Suisse published a report in March that predicted that we'll see "65MP sensors in 2H 2019 and 108MP sensors in 2020". Well, a 64MP sensor is already a reality (not 65MP, but still) and phone makers are already lining up to use it. Qualcomm...

The new file system has been a Huawei P30 Pro exclusive thus far and promises an average increase in random read speed of 20% and more than 2GB of system storage savings.
