| Xiaomi Mi A3 and A3 Lite may get upgraded chipsets - Snapdragon 730 and 675 Posted: 11 Jul 2019 07:00 AM PDT Xiaomi's upcoming Android One phones will be based on its new CC9 series with some modifications. The Xiaomi Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite are reportedly getting upgraded chipsets compared to their MIUI-running relatives. The Mi A3 is set to get the Snapdragon 730. Compared to the S710 inside the CC9, this chip uses newer big cores (Cortex-A76 based Kryo 470, up from A75-based Kryo 360). Also, the new Adreno 618 promises a 25% boost over the old one. The chipset is built on Samsung's 8nm LPP process, which improves power efficiency (the S710 is a 10nm chip). Snapdragon 730 and 675... |
| Artist creates Google Pixel 4 renders based on the leaks so far Posted: 11 Jul 2019 06:15 AM PDT The first renders of the Google Pixel 4 were rather dark, obscuring much of the detail. So, here's a new set of renders (which try to pass off as real photos). The back should be pretty familiar by now, with the square camera hump - a design element that will be shared with the new iPhones. There are two cameras on there (regular + tele), along with a 3D ToF sensor. The front is more interesting, as Google has returned to the classic top bezel (even on the Pixel 4 XL). It's pretty crowded too, a notch would have never worked with two cameras, an earpiece and an extra sensor (for hand... |

It supports Bluetooth 4.2, but more importantly the certification signals that we should be hearing more about the OnePlus TV soon. OnePlus TV remote control certification Back in... |

| The Raspberry Pi 4 has a notable USB Type-C power issue Posted: 10 Jul 2019 04:45 PM PDT A bug has recently been identified with the USB Type-C implementation on the new Raspberry Pi 4 single board computer. It was already confirmed officially by the board's co-creator Eben Upton. Apparently, the Raspberry Pi 4 refuses to take power from certain USB Type-C cables. Most notably ones that users have re-purposed from Macbooks and other new Type-C powered laptops. Without getting overly technical, what is happening here is that certain cables identify the Raspberry Pi 4 incorrectly as an audio adapter accessory and then refuse to provide sufficient power. The... |
